It's indeed all becoming a bit (read: very) confusing. --
Because other studies are telling the exact opposite, so what's to believe? --
First, what has been generally agreed with will be the using of masks by medical personnel, for they do in fact do know what they're doing. Especially within hospitals and thus. They seem to have been shown very effective, with clearly lower fatality and infection rates.
Like outside they've been proven a 100% ineffective. No doubts about that anymore. It's like using contraception at the age of 80 or older. The virus really doesn't stand a chance outside in the open air. Hence, it'd be an achievement on his own to get infected there.
Second, the masks will mostly protect others against yourself, which has been scientifically proven as well.
However, thinking otherwise, coupled with wrongly put on (which 8 out of 10 apparently does, will do more harm than good.
And meanwhile, according to all recent studies, the most important way of spreading (by far) happens to be by the so called aerosols, which unfortunately aren't really blocked by any mask. (Only partly by the 99% Hepa-filters, but they aren't appropriate, due to only protecting yourself (for the need of completely opening when exhaling.
What actually happens is a bigger chance of re-infection as well, due to constantly exhaling and again inhaling your own aerosols.
After a while the masks will get wet, decreasing oxygen levels, but at the same time seriously increasing Co2 levels.
Which also causes the drops and moist in your mask to vaporize as aerosols, in stead of falling on the floor, which, as we know of by now, are the single most important spreaders.
Not only that, but wearing them for too long seriously increases the chance of, for example, lung infections and chronicle headaches.
I myself do live in an area which has on of the lowest infection and fatality rates in Europe (or maybe even in the world, while face masks aren't being used at all. On the other side of a border, just 10 minutes driving, face masks are required, but there have been a couple of serious outbreaks over there. That, of course, could be coincidentally, but there's a repeating pattern going on.
Another argument in favor of wearing masks would be psychologically, for it's making people more cautious, due to the feeling there's seriously something going on.
While at the same time there's doctors warning for creating a feeling of fake safety, hence counterproductive.
Like I mentioned before, it's all getting a bit confusing. --

The average masks that folks are wearing are not going to cause CO2 levels to rise that high. Long term use of an unvented N95, or higher, possibly could, though it really doesn't make much sense when you actually think about it. N95s, and higher, should be fitted. Otherwise you don't get a good seal. When you breath in, that seal tightens, and forces the air through the filters, or filtered fabric. When you breath out, that seal relaxes, and air escapes out the edges. This is why, when wearing an N95 mask, people that wear glasses get the fogging effect. The kind of mask that she puts on, a surgical mask, hardly restricts air flow, and is more meant to restrict liquids, and droplets. Those that do have some problems breathing in them most likely already have respiratory problems to start with. N95s CAN, after many hours of constant use, but even that is pretty rare for a healthy person. What I find funny is right after making the case for how much it restricts breathing, she then makes the case for how open, and porous it is. lol Then she makes the suggestion that N95s won't filter particles that carry virals? Um, yeah. Think she needs an upgrade in knowledge. People have to train themselves not to touch the masks, their faces, etc. That has little to do with the mask, and more to do with the person. Humans normally touch their faces for varying reasons. That's habit, and psychological. No, in the Western world, we're not used to this. It is something folks have to get used to. As well, the paper bag technique is becoming more, and more frowned upon. There are not a lot of studies on it, but there's not much to show that it actually does any good either. There are better treatments out there now.

YAY
Those who wear the cloth mask incorrectly and/or keep adjusting their mask is because they don't feel comfortable with the mask. That is why it's important for the mask makers to consider choosing the right fabric (high technology breathable fabric, wicking capabilities, soft hand feel, and anti-microbial is a plus. Create a design that has an air pocket for easy breathing and avoid any suffocation feeling.

What YOU need to know about wearing ANY mask near ME, is this: Make sure I've had my rescue remedy FIRST! That way I'll only be nervous, NOT going nuts! Just seeing someone in a mask right now on my computer screen, gets my heart racing. (ADHD & higher functioning autism + all these masks. DON'T mix with me)

I was lucky enough to have my local hardware store sell n95s and surgical masks. I understand that these should not be bought, however half the people in my neighborhood don-t wear masks and there are cases in by building. I have a justification to buy them.

It's all about coordinating the logistics there is no miracles needed. The precautionary measures must be practiced and if we cant actively engaged in discipline and hygiene we are downplaying the consequences and the seriousness of this perlious pestilence?

our goverment has alot to to say about closeing the country down but the logical thing would be to have people that are infected wear something like a braclet so others can know who to stay clear of i am shure once the world population is down it will happen

You are being told over and over again to be afraid of your body, not to trust your body, and to put that diaper or that muzzle or mask on your face, and to breathe in all of your own bacteria, so that you become sick, and sick, and sicker.

Here goes my question. Which is the most important keyword among 'global supply issue', 'developing vaccines' and 'producing more masks' these days? Which is the cheapest and most effective way? Ah. Sorry I forgot to say 'Click bait'.

Overall, mask wearing is uncomfortable to ordinary non-clinical people which may explain why a vast number of people wearing it tend to touch their faces more than usual. As a health educator, I appreciate the info shared. Thanks.
