-Why I have no interest in ultramarathons and think it's the opposite of fitness and shouldn't be treated like normal because none of our relatives do this nonsense- - Everyone Else
(Seriously though, if you're wearing shoes on unnaturally flat surfaces instead of using your feet to deal with complicated terrain you're on the path that leads to bonus suffering without any actual skill)

You have to be in a mental state on the brink of insanity to run a marathon. ultramarathon is a step ahead being full scale madness, obsession and insanity. How else can bring up the willpower to tell your body to keep running after the first marathon?
I can't make it past 10km without saying, you know. f--- it! I'll have a beer in the sun instead!
Respect for those who can. -

13: 55 that-s me now I-ve honestly done so many 5, 10 half marathons to my ocr stuff to where I just enjoy encouraging my other fellow runners during competitions it-s just refreshing to hear happy and encouraging feedback and how we are in pain but can push through it as one!

Ultramarathoners sound like psychos. I can-t even imagine getting drunk on your 30th and decide to, and complete, a 30 mile run (in underwear no less. Much less an 81 hour run. That-s like way past when you go insane for sleep deprivation

For me the most amazing thing about this guy and other ultramarathoners, is that it's like the most human thing you can do, no other animal would be able to do this, ours is the only body that adapted to this

ran for 5k nonstop for first time in my life. i thought my stomach was punched by Tyson and my throat felt like a desert. I'm never doing it again. maybe jog, but no more full speed run lol.

I have done 50-140km races theese answers are actually so real. :) And for some that want to try, there is very very much valuable information here. Use it to spare some really hard times.

I cramp up every time I run more than a mile. My body won-t adapt for some reason. I regularly ride 100+ mile sessions on my bicycle. But can-t run for some reason.

I also have a question for this gentleman:
You seem to be constantly running, like non stop- how did they manage to sit you down and do this interview?

How do you become an ultramarathon runner when you're a pathetic, morbidly obese prick constantly on the edge of a heart attack, like most of America is?
