sigh It's amazing that even a legend and seasoned pro like Todd can be so wrong about Superman. Can Superman be boring? Yes, if he's not written well. But if you get the right writer with a good vision Superman can be infinitely interesting. I think what Todd is addressing here is Silver Age Superman that never had any struggles and could invent powers on the fly.

Most experts on WIRED are very knowledgeable, inspiring, and great ambassadors for their field. Unfortunately, Todd McFarlane isn't. His answers on topics like art vs. text, graphic novel vs. comics, are comics literature really lack the soundness and depth I'm used to in this format.

Todd is a great teacher. He gave a master class in comics in under 15 minutes. Loved when he shared about the different planes to create depth and volume when creating in a 2 dimensional page. Man is a legend! I used to own the 1st spiderman edition he drew, but it was stolen.

Big fat Duh. Comic books are literature. If you get tired of the ones your reading then switch it up. There s different genres. I m gonna get booed at but classic books are the best though. What, what? Boo yourself.

I liked everything about this interview except for 2 things: his point of view regarding Superman, and his answer regarding Scorcese. He sounds like the most basic person who has never read a Superman comic.

Todd is starting to sound more like Stan Lee and that's a good thing. Also proud owner of Amazing #298 and #300. When I did drawings as a teen I did Todd's signature scroll, no hidden Felix the cats though.
