A lot of people criticized when Matt was the Doctor but he actually really popularized the show internationally at the time. Before then I had not met many other Americans my age who were fans. After he became the doctor suddenly everyone on the street has a doctor who shirt and a tardis license plate while quoting bow ties are cool.

He is really mad about people questioning his ability to grow a beard.
Which as a man who can't grow one, i absolutely feel.
Matt seems like a pretty down to earth bloke. If you met him in a bar and don't know him, I doubt you'd realise he is famous.

Cracks me up that he never quite got over the beard question. Very Doctor-y thing to do, be asked about growing a beard, then proceed to ponder the idea of it for the next 5 minutes while also answering a million other questions in record time.

I'll always persist in my belief that Matt Smith delivered the most impressive performance as the Doctor, as his was the one with the mannerisms most different to how he acts while out of character.
reply

Eleven had already regenerated. Since it was the start of a new regeneration cycle, he was only back in his eleventh form as a reset, so to me at least makes sense he just snaps into Capaldi

I loved how fast he went through the questions without unnecessary waffling. Also, amazing how he hasn't aged too much, unlike many other actors I come across that I have watched years ago.

For anyone who doesn't know, Matt Smith was originally announced as being in The Rise of Skywalker (no role was announced. Then the movie came out and he just. wasn't.
reply

It's funny how he says he isn't memorable as sky net but his accent was so good if you not good with faces or a doctor whoist like me you wouldn't know it was him
reply

Nobody important Blimey that's amazing! D'ya know in 900 years of time and space I've never met anyone who wasn't important before - Matt Smith as The Doctor
reply

It cracks me up they only censored at 0: 57, and didn't bother with the rest of it
Can't wait to check out Caught Stealing, I'm going for you Matt!

reply

Absolutely my favorite New Doctor. (3 and 5 will always be MY Doctors, though)
Best Prince Phillip, by far.
Absolute legend, Matt Smith.

reply

What, you think The Doctor has all the time in the world to read these questions Probably a planet about to be blown up, he's got places to be XD
reply

Matt absolutely raced through this interview but still fun! If only Daemon Targaryen raced through the harrenhall plot in season 2 HotD
reply

He shouldve answered the beard question with no i have a big Thaaang.
We know youre packing babe we dont care about you're facial hair.

I like these interviews, but I never liked the boards fiercely thrown on the floor. Is it that hard to put them down in a decent gesture
reply

I also grew up in Northampton, England. In fact, Matt Smith went to Northampton School for Boys at the same time as my brother.
reply

you HAVE to love someone who respects his audience's time! He'd know all about time, being a timelord after all! Love Matt Smith!
reply

Sure it was fast but his dry humor was entertaining compared to his silly humor as the doctor. Cool to see a different side
reply

42 years old and he already packs so many iconic characters, the Doctor, Daemon, Prince Phillips. He will be one of the greats.
reply

I don't know a single person who hates this man, he's an absolute legend. Also, why do I think he looks like everyone's dad
