This is Warcraft 3 expansions, woke edition, can't have good male characters as leaders and role models and all fathers are bad now. This all stems from WC3, I love WC3 and all, it is a great story, however it is NOT a Warcraft story. Both Holly Longdale AND Christ Metzen said they hated the War in Warcraft. People tend to forget the disneyfication of Warcraft started before that even became a term. It started with WC3 with it being not about factions WAR, but to JOIN together to face a common enemy, and it pretty much being Arthas' story. Chris Metzen was at the helm of WC3 too. I honestly believe he always wanted to get rid of the faction war and make it like Everquest from the start, and not Warhammer even though that is the heart and soul of the game. Also take note Tim Campbell was the main designer for the Orc campaign in Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. Which brought back the faction war, and cycle of hatred. Not even Chris was behind that campaign. I think it was just Tim working on it, that's how devoted he was to the true Warcraft. Allen Adham saw the writing on the wall and I think he aggressively told Chris to bring Warcraft back to its Warhammer roots and wouldn't take no for an answer. That's why PvP was just added on mid development but changed the entire world back to its grim dark WC2 roots and not that of the peace loving WC3. It's why the Classic era WoW is so jarring and different from current WoW, Classic = the true grim dark WC2 and current WoW = fake peaceful WC3. I love WC3 and all, my most favorite game, it is a great story, but it is NOT a WARcraft story.

Obviously they once again need to kill the brother who embodies tribalism in favor of the girlboss 'chosen by the wild gods'. Makes a lot of sense since WoW has absolutely no idea what tribalism is due to those snowflake writers they have working for them these days. These people keep spitting in the face of what the people actually want, which is Warcraft, not World of Disney or World of Girlboss. To those who still can look at these types of comments after playing through Shadowlands, Dragonflight, War Within and Midnight, feel free to attack me in the comments and open up a debate, i'm ready for you.

Skipped every cinematic, Didn't read any quests, Just auto-accepting quests and instantly skipping everytime I got a garbage cinematic
Always Curious about the end of the raid cinematic though, always good to see Blizzard failing to tell a good story as per usual
1/10
Surprised nobody, glad I didn't waste my time reading the lore or watching the cinematics and sticking to PVP for the elite sets and then back to other games
Dumpsterfire Patch
But seriously, Fire your Storywriters already. They're as terrible as The unmentionable, infamous star wars movies everyone talks shit about.

So. Just as we all half-suspected would happen, they killed an heir of Zul'jin himself. An heir who as an anti-hero could make better decisions than his grandfather.
In between the cinematic and Blizzard choosing women over men, there's one thing we can agree on.
BLIZZARD.
DOESN'T.
CARE.
May the corrupt company be shut down and the game purified for something better. FOREVER.
At least I've long since said my piece from MU WoW when during the events of Shadowlands, allegations against Blizzard arose back 5 years ago.

My God, reading the comments honestly scares me. Nothing but guys complaining that there are too many strong women in this game Boo-hoo, poor babiesyou aren't used enough to seeing equality, in my opinion, and you're forgetting about strong male characters like Lor'themar, Arathor, or Anduin. Okay, sure, quite a few female characters have been in the spotlight over the last few expansions, but what's wrong with that I think a lot of men here feel threatened. toxic masculinity is really an ugly thing.

So like, how did any of this further the plot in any way Who grew from this Zul'jarra didn't even come to the realisation that calling him 'little brother' was what kept infantalising and alienating him in the first place. It reeeally sucked that he died but she could at least have addressed this in this scene.
All that happened in this patch was some big monster got summoned and Zul'jan died. What on earth was the point.

They had a real opportunity here to do something with the Amani. To have Zul'Jan be entwined with Amani lore, and not just flop over like a dead fish on the expansion he was introduced in. Classic Blizzard move to do the whole This character is mega important to the story! Oh wait, no they aren't. They're dead. The people who thought they were done with these one-shot characters are naive as heck. This includes me

There's a lot of really silly comments on this video about wokecraft and strong female characters and it's all diluting the really important criticisms of Zul'jan's story - like, how it was pointless, how it has very strong pro-colonial undertones, how it was mildly racist for that reason, how it served to kill off a character with a lot of potential. Do better, Blizz.

At Blizzcon when they showed the Siblings of the Amani, we know, we all know what was going to happen.
Sister good, Brother bad. She would become the badass leader, while the evil brother would die.
And lo hand behold, to no ones surprise, the outcome of it.
And that was with one simple image, It's just so easy to predict story telling today from Blizzard.

ahh yes, same shitty story writing, one character gets power promise/blinded by power then joins dark side then creates problems, then gets rekt and in the end either realises and turns new leaf or dies with guilt. nothing new in 15/20 years, GG writers. i haven't touched wow in like 10 years now but I can tell you everything is the same by watching this scene

They should have had Ula'tex be a loa that locked herself in to guard the Kithixx but slowly got corrupted. Zul'jan should have found a way to save her, but master the Void. but this lets the General escape and help Xal or even fight her. Thus giving the Amani a void Loa and a dark antihero co-leader who works in the shadows as Zul'jarra works in the front.

I do not play retail, so correct me if Im wrong, but what I've gathered from clips is: this is basically 2026 retail version of the Rise of the Blood God patch Disenfranchised trolls try to summon some reptilian super-weapon/god in order to reclaim their former glory
And I always loved the Troll Patch. But this seems like it fell flat.

Bear in mind game writing, narrative writing is probably one of the most competitive positions in gaming (probably right up there with concept art and music) and this is the quality of the game writing. Let that sink in, let that really marinate, blizzard probably has their pick of game writers to hire and this, this is the output.

At this rate I won't be surprised anymore if the only remaining interesting characters such as Xal'atath and Iridikron (and probably even Azshara if we do hear from her again) have underwhelming deaths as well in the near future. Blizzard sure loves to disappoints its playerbase.

Blizzard cant write and I'm done with Warcraft
Painting a character as the villain for watching out for his people, his culture, his identity is dumb. Blizzard is a greedy company that hires absolutely horrible writing staff.
WoW died with Sandowlands

All Zuljan wanted was the power to defend his people. Power that would never leave them. He is right about the LOA. They can abadon them anytime they wish, for any reason. Some people want insurance, not promises that can be broken.

World of 'We Don't Know How To Write Masculinity' - I am very glad I've stopped supporting this game financially. The Amani needed the Warlords of Draenor writers behind them, not the cuddlefest Dragonflight ones.

so we had VOID as a theme and blizzard just hits us with anyway, trolle snake island! with the lamest most overused ending.
sigh, maybe they should've used the patch to show us where in the world iridikron is.
