So the Crown of Will has existed since Sylvanas sent a Dominated Mug'thol to retrieve it. Mug'thol put it on and escaped Domination. Now the Crown of Will is created. But Mug'thol already has it. This is some bronze dragonflight dickery, unless they are not the same crown, in which case there is one crown that just existed and was able to break Domination, and now a new one is made instead of going and retrieving the first one. This is some top notch writing by blizzard. I've been saying I'm done with WoW lore when Shadowlands was released, but I've been clinging to hope even so. Blizzard just keeps giving me reasons to not care anymore. How can they make Legion, where old heroes we hadn't encountered for entire expansions come again, old items we've had or have heard of come back as artifacts and are part of the story, and now they just poof the helm of domination into a weird little holy helmet? I guess the plot point of Sylvanas at one point having sought the Crown of Will, perhaps subconsciously, to become whole again or some such, is not worth exploring. No, let's just make a new one and disregard the old one entirely. Plus the whole of shadowlands being the realm of death but actually only one of the mini-realms of shadowlands is really the realm of death (Maldraxxus, and the others are basically light (bastion, life (ardenweald, life again (Revendreth, and the Maw which acts a lot like the Void. Just great writing all around. When they finally make a void expansion it's going to be full of fel, light, arcane and life, with just one zone that is actually void, because reasons.

Just brutal, brutal writing. The sad/tragic part of all this is if you played the original warcraft games and then world of warcraft from vanilla through WOTLK where the lore and story were amazing and made SENSE. It was believable without overdoing it. You genuinely felt nervous/anxious facing Illidan, Kil'jaden and The Lich King in TBC /WOTLK back in 2007-2008 because the writing was so well done that it allowed you to enter a state of suspension of disbelief where the unbelievable became believable. The immersion has been non-existent for the most part since WOTLK but this is the pinnacle of severing the the bond of immersion. I have never witnessed a franchise do this to arguably the most beloved video game series of all time. What a tragedy. Honestly, just tragic.

I think I know what will be the next WoW expansion. See, now you can weild the Crown of Domination, wich means you pocess the power to control (or overtake) the Scourge without any side effects. Combined with your legendary weapon, the Heart of Azeroth, the power you gain through the Shadowlands and as a champion of both Horde and Alliance, no one can possibly put a threat to you anymore. Sargeras's return? Unlikely. The Void Lords? Psh! Can you beat Arthas again if he ever comes back from the dead? Indubitably. Nobody could face you for the tittle of most epic strongest champion mary sue hero of all WoW's expanded universe.

I almost cried watching this, WoW has been a big part of my life ever since I watched my dad play 17 years ago and I started on my paladin human. I-ve just been playing Classic WoW now but I think this is the last thing I needed to see before completely cutting off WoW. Sick of the bans that have been massively being pushed too in WoW SoM for the littlest thing like -being rude to players in pvp- or -bot like behavior- even though clearly not doing anything harmful or being a bot. It-s like they don-t care about any form of their own game anymore and are hoping for it to die. Then to have a story I loved just destroyed? Nah, good night sweet prince.

I hate how they rewrote the Lich Kings entire lore and reason for being. And now they give the one person who has become worse than Arthas and Garrosh combined a redemption arc, standing next to the actual defenders of Azeroth like nothing has happened.
You know, the folks who all, to some degree or another, suffered from her actions, willingly undertaken and in full control of her own actions.
But we put down some random bandit dressed in a potato sack like a rabid dog because the guy stole someone's turnips.
I miss the days when every Alliance foot soldier had a handlebar moustache and the bad guys were openly, honestly and enjoyable bad.

Over half a year later and I'm still pissed they ruined Sylvanas. A two expansion long -master plan- resulted in her lobbing a shitty little arrow at the jailor the second he regained his megatron form. Should've been unrepentant till the end, working towards destroying the barrier between life/death and ending afterlife communism. Seriously if the writers had just stayed course and had her succeed in breaking that barrier her genocide would've already been justified. Should've betrayed the jailor at a crucial moment and won. Seriously I haven't seen a single antagonist win in warcraft, would've been a nice change

As a fan of WC3 and have been wathcing the storyline up till now aswell as reading as much lore as possible to understand most of the things, this has to be imo the worst thing i have seen done to something so iconic. Are these writers really people who understand the direction of the stories, are they legit smoking on something? Im sorry if i sound whiny and all, but man this sucks to see something i admired just thrown away. There will mever be a -Lich King- doesn't mean no one will sit on the Frozen Throne. This is the exact moment when -The Golden One claims a vacant Throne- becomes relevant. It will be Anduin and he will be used as a tool to keep the scourge in check or purge it. But the light will bring only darkness.

Good Christ what is going on with the story writing for this game. Everything from the world building, the music, the story, it's all going down the shitter. I'm not saying this as someone who blindly hates on the game, I love Wow, but come on. This is more reminiscent of a bad Marvel movie than the first expansions.

I just dont freggin get it. Ithought the helm and armour was suppose to have narzul traped within it as a prison made from the demons. And suddenly it's a helm of more signifigance than we thought despite it's original purpose?

I think some of the fanbase is as bad as Activision. Even if they did a good job you all would complain about every little thing you could find. I don't think the helm of domination is that bad a. It's about as lame as the crown is lol.
