Fair trade doesnt always mean farmers have living wages. It depends on the co-op they are working though and what the minimum price for beans are. It sounds like the co-op in Peru they are working with is a fair co-op. However there are lists of fair trade co-ops (particularly in South America) that are technically fair trade but barely pay enough for the farmers to scrape by. Recently, some fair trade companies have come under fire for using the fair trade logo and boosting the price of the coffee for their own benefit.
Essentially, dont assume the company is good because it claims to be fair trade. You still have to research the company.

This was a good video except for the white privileged woman complaining about the price of coffee. If the price is too low than never buy coffee until the cost goes up. It is nice for these farmers to have a very small lock on price but they are a very small portion of the coffee market. If they are not careful that little market share will go away due to lack of shoppers at the price they demand for their goods.

350 cups of coffee per day would kill you 3 times over. Because I did research. And for someone my height and weight. It would take 151 cups of coffee om a single day to kill me

It's crazy how much I don't think about the origins of so many of my foods. I'll definitely be looking out for the Fair Trade seal!
