So, my old room mate has a boyfriend with a very, /very/ picky pallet. Mostly lived on red meat and bread. Once he moved in with us, we had to change dinners accordingly, even though we love all sorts of foods. Our #1 go to was spaghetti, blending onions and spinach and all sorts of veggies in a bullet blender to add into the sauce. Came out kinda funny looking if we added too much green stuff, but he ate so many different veggies without even knowing it

The trick to getting kids to eat vegetables is not to spend their first years telling them how gross vegetables are and feeding them mcdonalds and candy whenever they want.
Do you know what kids love? Boiled kale with olive oil salt and pepper. My nieces and nephews actually request this basic dish just because I fed it to them the first time I cooked for them. Because they're actually hungry for real basic veggies cooked right.

Kids have no natural aversion to any kind of food. If they refuse to eat veggies, or you have to hide them, then there's been poor parenting along the way. My family never gave me a choice as to what I was going to eat. They made a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner and if I wanted to eat that was what I was eating. Sometimes we would go out for a pizza, sushi, tacos, etc as a treat but we never had garbage food in the house.

My parents had a rough time getting baby me eating food. So. they tricked me. By saying green beans (sperziebonen) were the same as fries.
So imagine me eating with friends at the age of 7 and still being certain green fries were a thing. yes, I believed this for 7 whole years. Mcdonalds was no fun for me, cause there were no green fries.

Blenders for the win. I ve seen so many moms sneaking veggies in that way and I m here for it! Also I m 31 years old and refused to try Brussel sprouts until recently. but my mom made them more sweet vs savory with bacon and maple syrup mixed in while they bake in the oven. It is soooo good with a little sweetness added

Had to come here to make sure to give you a like lady, watched it on FB good job. BTW curious with sweet potatoes he doesn't even like them as french fries oh my. As to brussel sprouts I'm not a fan but have found if I add a few to coleslaw it's ok.

I have to do this with my husband so I feel your pain. Funny thing is picky eaters always eat it and say it tastes amazing until they know what it is and it's suddenly the most disgusting meal in the world. We're working on it

This is ridiculous. She discusses it wayyyy too much with her kids. Just cook food, put it in front of them. They eat it or not. When they're hungry, they'll eat. People indulge their kids way too much.

She is too nice. Maybe it's just a change in societal attitude, but in the 90s my parents would just tell us we were lucky to have food at all and we should eat what is on the plate.
