so this is presented like an impossible choice or something people would fight over. but there are a ton of unknowns: what the status of the lunar facility is, whether the suspension process even works, how long it's been and whether anyone up there is left alive, whether and how the Superman pod works (antigravity. and a few knowns: in the back was something labeled QUARTERS. this place is apparently completely impregnable, so now you have a very safe place to rest and recharge in the middle of the country. if there are quarters there's probably food and water and sanitation, possibly even medicine. we already know there's power.
if I'm one of them I'm thinking REAL hard about whether or not I'm taking that trip and gathering as much info as I can up front.

I just wish people would start thinking of more realistic scenarios for their dystopian futures than this over consumption and climate crisis tropes. It's been sold for so long now, it's so repetitive, but it's just so unbelievable when there's far worse scenarios actually happening. I decided to give Dust a chance again after being disappointed so many times and this one executes and casts relatively well but the justification is just so thin it undermines. no sorry my mistake, skipping ahead to half way it's just another squabbling group of angst ridden in fighters again.

I love the concept! The production value is impressive and most of the acting is passable. not all, but most. And the dilemma is epic. However, as a technology professional there are few things I despise more in a film than technobabble. decrypting a multi-binary, quantum algorithm with a stochastic matrix protocol is gobbledygook of the highest order. The least you could have done is asked a friend or relative with a smidge of technical expertise to consult on that dialogue. That shit's horrible

Part II: The group draws straws then turns on itself, and after arguments, bloody fights and finally fatal blows, there are two survivors.
They take the seats, and the pod leaves.
After several silent moments, ANOTHER pristine gleaming white pod rises up amid the carnage of blood and corpses. The computer presenter then appears and obliviously begins her happy hopeful spiel all over again.

I love the cast, and even in the brief time we know the characters I really really like their dynamic. Survival group that genuinely seem to actually care about each other and don’t just jump down each others throats. Tho I’ll say with that ending: I would NOT want to be one of the people in that pod. How do you know the facility is going to work I don’t trust like that.

Sick girl and her boyfriend. Obvious choice. Maybe her one and only hope of survival. I would say women to the lifeboats but the one girl was doing the girl boss thing so she can stay and prevent the girl from leaving her guy behind and having survivor guilt over that.

after what they just came through i'd be happy to just be in that room, plus it said quarters in the back so the place had to be prepared for many people to sustain life, and since i like happy endings there was all the comforts of home back in there.

I would not go to this Phoenix 9 anyway. Lunar facility Joking Any guarantee it is still functioning Till the conditions on Earth normalize What if they never will It is much better to go on searching for the Earth-based colony.

If, in this scenario, humanity is facing an extinction event, the logical choice would likely prioritize sending the two women, primarily from a procreation standpoint, which would be crucial in such circumstances.

Trivia - Movie blooper/error When the Nuke took out the elctrical systems their shouldn't be any alarms blaring in the aircraft! But I guess this was to help viewers understand that they were going DOWN!
reply

Who's to say that that was one pod of many. That facility looked like it could hold many of those pods. No need to lose your humanity over something that could change the outcome of two people.

Does EVERY one of these entries have to be so effing dire Sci Fi can actually be about good things if you let yourself let go of teen angst for a bit and think more about your concepts.

That couple: Choose the honored one and the rest of us will use this high tech facility as our new home. Time to explore and find the kitchen. I'm starving.

I do enjoy science fiction. Can you direct me to a production company who believes in presenting more than cast diversity and actually has interesting plots
reply

The place looks big enough to be used as a base, maybe check for supplies and try to make contact with the lunar base, we don't know if it still exist

It’s so convenient that the password page provides an entire interface for hacking itself, instead of just giving you the option of entering the passcode.
reply

Hahaha, bad directing the nuke light shows it on the side of the airplane. But the plan is flying straight in the direction of the blast. Hahaha
reply

Yup, not bad. This is on par with Netflix series production wise. Also has good pacing and acting. The story so far is good but has been done before.
reply

Absolutely fantastic well done, depressing in a way humans, at the end still struggle to get on with each other. Would love to see a full length film.

It was ok, but I can't understand that if they dont have food and enough water to wash face why the men can shave and women deal eyebrow

Why is it that no one can write sci fi without being about warfare and/or post apocalypse Is there ANY original creative thinking out there
reply

Where does their electrical light come from And how are their gadgets working Do they lick have energy out of the sand or what ; -)
reply

That seemed like ine hell of a hangar to just have one two seater in it. There could be more of those in storage down the hole.
reply

The lunar base is dead. They don’t know this. They stress and stress and fight over who will go, and the two that do go die.
reply

I don't understand how in the beginning the plane lost power due to the EMP pulse, but then starts to beep warning signals.
reply

It's not on the level with Kubrick - it's purile garbage with paid promotions. Entertainment for teeny-boppers. What the hell!
reply

An Uber extra-terrestrial being with a mole on her neck. like inter galactic space travel with bald headed captains.

If you have any questions regarding the process of making the film, I'm happy to answer them (Director of Phoenix 9)
