Sci-Fi Short Film: Ji - DUST
video description
They left Earth a destroyed planet, seemingly a long time ago judging by their planet, society and evolution. He came back to Earth because he heard there were some small pockets that were not destroyed by nature, implying a catastrophic natural demise of human society. Yet the girl he meets when he gets here is wearing perfect manufactured clothing, living in a perfectly normal house.
Later when the other dude and pals turn up, we see him wearing perfect clothes, and even later his son wearing perfect clothes.
But without showing some form of untouched civilization that survived the implied catastrophic event, you have to ask where the hell are all these perfect clothes coming from, that part just doesnt make sense, and broke my immersion.
But it was nice to see they believe that even having deserted a destroyed world, humanity just kept on doing what humanity does, war with itself.

Dude, in the first two minutes the guy explains he comes from an upper class family, he gets to make an intergalactic journey in a cool ship, and gets greeted by the most gorgeous girl who wants to help as soon as he arrives coughing.
What could go wrong The story is basically over!
4: 38 - Something was happening. - JAZZ! Ain't that cool
5: 08 - OK, this is getting corny.
The dialogue between 5: 00 and 7: 12 is pulling this whole thing down the toilet. _FAST! _
7: 25 - 5 years later. I was expecting them to be throwing frying pans at each other. BUT NO!
Instead. he gets to throw some shadowy humanoids against the wall (which is way better for the relationship) where they graciously disintegrate, and then to pull a katana from thin air.
Like I said: what could possibly go wrong And then it did.
Or then again not, since it was finally over.

The dialogue didn’t feel very strong. I didn’t get a sense of crisis during the fight scene.
The lady seemed like she had some deep dark secret that would be uncovered at the end but it seems she was normal Again, body language.
What happened to other humans on earth If the intention was to leave out other humans, what happened to humanistic elements like electricity, the internet, a portrait of her family, a story of her past, something to help us understand what’s going on with humanity on earth.
Again, I enjoyed the story being told in this short. But it was missing some elements.

This was unbelievably well done. So much work and passion went into this and it absolutely shows. Everything about this felt simple, clean, and direct. The cgi work (extremely good btw) was beautiful, and the stunt work y’all did was also super elegant and clean. The acting and story was super simple and complemented everything perfectly. The choreography was fast and tight and well executed. No shaky cam, I got to see all the skill those guys had to offer on display and I loved it. Thank you.

TOP 3 ON Dust this would be a hell of a movie with a background on where they actually come from and a sequel to where the boy is all grown upend has to go back or possibly align with where he came from because of a bigger enemy destroying both worlds

This was a really well done short. It even felt like a proper ending compared to some of the other DUST videos. It is a shame that DUST once again makes it near impossible to see the names of the actors and other people involved in the project.

Love Dust vids but this is just low hanging fruit crap that I refuse to thumbs up. And that's being nice. Step it up Dust! had to call it quits at 9. 25 and I will always hang out for a possible good ending. Not this time bros.

I really like this one! Great quality short, in many ways! The end was horrible though. Ji got killed off after finally finding love & happiness & Tiffany was left to go on without him.
