Evolution of Microsoft Flight Simulator (Animation)

After FSX: Acceleration, pretty much nothing happened for 5 years until Microsoft Flight came out. That really ended up being more of a footnote and was canceled after only a few months of development before Microsoft allegedly sold off the rights to the franchise to Dovetail Games, who developed DTG Flight School and Flight Sim World, both of which were flops and cancelled shortly thereafter. Pretty much all hope was lost for the once praised Microsoft franchise until they, to EVERYONE-s surprise, announced they were actually making a new one, leaps ahead of FSX. The path from FSX to FS2020 was very long and winding.
Just in case anyone was wondering what happened in the 14-year gap lol.\r\n

Fun Fact: I was expelled an aviation program early this summer, they had a full simulator, not just meaning the yoke, nah, I mean every button in the Cessna 172 cockpit was in the simulator cockpit.
Also a Not So Fun Fact: when I lived in Florida I had a classmate who-s uncle worked as a flight instructor; in late 1999 to early 2000 he taught a group of young men. In 2001 they hijacked four planes- in 2016 my classmates uncle killed himself out of guilt.

can we just take a moment and realize how these companies make these types of games, from just white walls and a dot as a character, to what mfs is, to what call of duty is. for us to enjoy. its crazy to think were playing these amazing games that are just pixels on a screen that people made and spent years on. good or bad game. people take the time out of their day making money or not, to make what they want to make and for us to play and enjoy.

More on now the 2020 edition improved on the formula: native VR support, first appearance on console with Xbox Series, streamable map over the internet or stream the entire game to any device with the Xbox cloud service, introduction of fictional aircrafts with the Pellican from the Halo series.

Amazing video. Been playing this since Commodore 64, floppy disk and it took a good 6-8 minutes until the game loaded, the default Chicago runway showed up. I found that incredible back then. but today's 2020 is a absolute masterpiece. Cannot wait for the free 40th Anniversary update on Nov 11.

You skipped passed fs2004 far to quickly, it came on leaps and bounds from the one before and was not so different from fsX, I own both but I can-t wait unit I get a rig that can run the latest version, it looks utterly unbelievable!

The twin towers had to be removed but some players tried changing the time to that time, but it would just ban them
