We've all seen a game with enemies who do nothing. Is the game broken? Is it poor AI? Falcon takes a closer look at what exactly happens Cubinator73: Still standing enemies ruin all the fun. I seek challenge and if 90% of enemies stay in a chain waiting to be kicked to the moon one by one, there is no challenge. But it's a great feeling to accomplish challenging feats, like beating Crysis 3 on Post-human warrior without cloak and armor and with pistols only, going through splinter cell without crouching or laying down or starting a MGS V mission without any gear.
Imagine telling your friend -I beat up an army of soldiers in Batman Arkham Knight, they weren't even attacking me- vs -Yesterday I beat up two dragons in Skyrim with my bare fists.-

i dont get this argument... u know if you jump into a fight with just 2 people.. your gonna get hit by random shit... now imagine a 4 person brawl.. your more likely to hit your mans then the enemy... so... it makes sense to me... you dont wanna get hit by your own guy.. or hit your own guy... also watching 2 people and trying to anticipate their moves is hard.
if youve ever been in a real fight.... this is all obvious.

The part in the video about Batman combat being impossible of they we all attacking you reminded me of Bayonetta. The enemies Grace and Glory are so fast and powerful that when the devs we're trying to fight them and they attacked at once, they were impossible to beat, so their ai was redesigned so that when one is attacking, the other waits for the to find ish before engaging. Look it up of you do t believe me.

Personally, I haven't played an Assassin's Creed game since the first one, so I'd expect groups don't all attack at once because they'd sell fewer copies.
Though I do rather like the bit in Mass Effect 2's Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC where they lampshade this, something along the lines of:
-Don't they know they'd be more effective if they all attacked at once?-
-Don't give them ideas!-

i remember something funny that happened in horizon zero dawn i was going in to the caldron that is taken over by shadow forces i kill every one in the court yard except 1 guy he runs down to look around for me then go's back to his standing zone and notices one of his friends dead even tho he past like 2-3 others on the way and go's -we have an intruder- and i shoot I'm in the head

Sometimes I wish the enemies would just stay there. I can't tell you how often I hit ONE guard in Skyrim, trying to kill a dragon, and suddenly they're all trying to attack me instead of it. It's gotten to the point where I just let them take care of it if one shows up in a city.

For me as a gamer, i think that it stimulate the real life situation. Which would be the standing enemy just stand there with doubt, planning not to hit his fellow allies(our enemy)

AC origins does it great now i think, they spot you quite easily, investigate it, look at the area you were and where you could have gone, call for aid of allies, and attack as groups.
