Prey: 10 things to know when starting a new game

1) Pistol with P-Crit++ is 10x better than a shotgun. Pistol > Shotgun.
2) Don't waste your points upgrading your inventory space. Carry a briefcase or some other container as a portable inventory.
3) Use ZERO POINT PSI 19-03WEOS
4) Use PSYCHOLITIC CONVERTER =/- (Make sure to stock up on medkits.)
5) Recycle everything.
6) Use the GLOO cannon as much as possible. It is extremely useful in countless situations.
7) Do NOT worry about consequences of Alien Powers. The rewards outweigh the risks.
8) Explore. Exploring is really important in prey, not only will you find hidden locations and lore, there are weapons and other items hidden in places the average player wouldn't search.

PREY is probably the first game to truly give you so many options it can be a headache, my advice get as much advice as possible,mine is - don't think the pistol is week once it upgraded it is very powerful, another is put a blob from the glue gun on anything suspicious eg two of the same objects if its a mimic it will show red on the reticule then smash it into black goo.
its a think first shoot later kind of game if that' sounds good it's for you but if you are looking for and all action shoot um up, look elsewhere.

1. Carry some alcohol in your inventory, cuz it helps eliminate fear effects from any Typhon attacks like from
The Weavers, Telepaths etc. also install The alcohol effect inhibitor suit chipset whenever you fight these Typhons.

3. Upgrade weapon damage skill, upgrade skill, necropsy, materials recycler and Focus mods fully. If you are on no alien powers playthrough to improve attack and resource gathering.

Good News, They have updated the game, pick 'STORY MODE' when you start a new game, its a difficulty mode which is easier than 'easy', basically your playing the game for the story, its a great mode to play if you just want to relax and explore the huge space station, lovin it, also the game is now available on GOG if you want to pickup a drm free version. Great Game all around. Its a Good Thinking Game -

Good News, They have updated the game, pick 'STORY MODE' when you start a new game, its a difficulty mode which is easier than 'easy', basically your playing the game for the story, its a great mode to play if you just want to relax and explore the huge space station, lovin it, also the game is now available on GOG if you want to pickup a drm free version. To any late comers to this fantastic game:
1. do NOT CRAFT THE BOWCASTER. You can throw ANYTHING else instead. You can push buttons with the nerf gun which is fun but not essential. More importantly, you find 2-3 bowcasters pretty early on. So big no-no & waste of resources to craft one...
2. turrets are your friends until you have 3 or more ------- neuromods (you'll know once you' know)

Tip: the developers made it o where if you're paying attention to small things you're less likely to get ambushed.
Example: the trash can falling down the stairs when you reach Morgan's office for the first time. You've already come in contact with mimics so you know there is one more trashcan here than there should be

Tip:Plan ahead what u want to spend your ability points because if you dont you will just have them in your inventory for no reason until you finaly decide what u want to take and belive me there have been way to many times where i had points but i didnt know what to use them on

WISH I PLAYED THIS GAME WHEN IT CAME OUT . . . Found it on Game Pass 2 wks ago, stopped playing when I got to the GUTS area becuz I knew I had to take my time playing it so I bought the game. BRILLIANT STORY AND GAMEPLAY STRUCTURE with so many options and ways to play it. ------

In the ballistics lab, open the recycler grenade chamber and mill the mimics. Then, grab every single thing you can pick up in the room and stuff it into the chamber. Close the chamber and set it off, collecting a decent amount of materials in the process.

i started a new game last night with no real goal in mind as far as how to build my character, but 9 hours in im a monster wrench wielder who can hack anything and throw giant shipping containers at ya! helps me save my ammo for when i really need it!
