I think to some extend the third person action adventure game is getting to be too cookie cutter. There is some great titles in the genre that really worth playing since it feels like like a copy of the previous game, but it is really the stories that are keeping people coming back to them. For me, the Assassin Creed and Far Cry games have become tiring for me. In terms of gameplay it is really too similar with too little changed. But ultimately the intrigue of the story is really what has gotten to play majority of these adventure games....

GOW creator David Jaffe is somewhat right..... But a Fu-king Hypocrite. Not only The Past GOW games weren't -innovated- at all, but nether was God of War (2018). The Combat is fun but nothing new and The A.I Assist that Atreus serves as has been seen before in other titles. I'm not shaming the game at all, its a total masterpiece, but that guy needs to look at the facts next time before starting a pissing contest.

There are people today that are tired of AAA games. They prefer an addictive indie game like Celeste over a beautiful and immersive AAA game like Red Dead 2. To say that all or even most people will get tired of AAA games is never gonna happen. In my opinion game innovation will only occur when we completely change the way we play games such as if we one day ditch the controller for a new way to play.

I agree with jaffe, I haven't been excited and repeatedly fulfilled by a triple a action game since ninja gaiden Xbox 360 games. Most action games bore me now and the ones I do end up playing just play it safe by reusing the same scenarios and game design as most other modern games. I'm very dissatisfied with the direction of the gaming industry overall. Few games get me excited anymore.

saying people are getting bored by the way 3d person action games play, is like saying people will get bored from reading books from a particular writer.. its just not how it works. People dont only play those kinds of games, and when you want a break from it you play a different type of game. Untill a new good one comes out and then you go back.

Ninja gaiden, tenchu, legacy of kain etc other 90's and early 2000s games need to be redesigned like resident evil 2 remake. I strongly believe we don't necessarily need an abundance of new game titles, but rather old games rebooted, reinvented, and redesigned. Imagine legacy of Kain with modern graphics and level design, my imagination weeps lol.

The question -6:27 so we can't have both good graphics & a good story? This is the problem most GTA games have up until GTA V, GTA graphics have always been sub par. Hell just try to make a female character in GTA V 90% of them look like meth heads. But then you have games like Destiny 2 & Black Desert Online with impressive character creators.

People buy the call of duty/battlefield/name almost any sport games every year. Assassin's creed is still a thing regardless of what it's become. So do we really think people are going to get tired of action adventure? In my opinion not as long as games like god of war, horizon zero dawn, and red dead keep coming out.

I have to say... I only played God of War for about 4 hours and haven't felt like picking it back up and when I tried I was like... Mehhhh. I preferred the last one over the latest. Got pretty bored with it.

Yea I love 3rd person games I love making the character to how I want them to look and yea graphics plays a part but story is what sells me as well to me it has to play good and and look good in my book
