What made prince of persia: sands of time a big deal?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a legendary game, the likes of which we don't see today. What made it such a big deal? Allow Jake to explain Incident: I urge anyone who loved this to find a copy of the Wii version of the Forgotten Sands. Completely different game and story to the main console releases that share the same name, it functions as a true spiritual sequel to the Sands of Time.
It's the closest to Sands in terms of gameplay and atmosphere of all released sequels to date. There are some extraordinary platforming sections, with neat original tricks in its second half I've never seen in a game of its type. It's also wise enough to keep its combat (easily the most annoying thing the games after Sands lean into) sparing.
There's also some fantastic post game bonus content to keep you playing too. It's a real hidden gem.

I actually played sands of time after playing warrior within. I saw my friend playing Prince of Persia: Warrior within. Seeing the horizontal wall running alone made me want to play this game so bad. Then, I found out that it was actually a part of a trilogy. So I saw the trailer of sands of time and loved it even more. It was a bit harder than warrior within, but it was more fun as well. It stuck to my head like a precious childhood memory. And even though, today, I consider warrior within to be my favorite POP game, sands of time still has a special place in my heart.

I know it's pretty controversial but I like the reboot Prince of Persia (2008) the best. Combat is boring and the platforming sections are easy af, but the graphic, the music, and the relationship between the Prince and Elika are what stuck to me the most. I especially love the watercolor art style and tbh, it's still one of the best looking games I've played till this day. It would be amazing if somehow Ubisoft can merge the art style of 2008 and the combat, platforming, and the difficulty of Sand of Times trilogy into a new reboot Prince of Persia.

we were 6 and 7 years old back when ps2 launched this i remember playing with friends in the carpet :P and the reason i sometimes still remmeber the games i wish to play after all these years is just for the nostalgia to remember, remember guys when we were kids we live the best years of our life, but when we get older we understand that we cant have that back,

Back then:They had so little and made so much
Nowadays: They have so much and make so little
Great examples: characters clothes being affected by the environment
Prince of Persia: Dirt on pants
Star Wars battlefront 2: having to buy General Grievous-s regular outfit and having to separately purchase the battle damaged version

I'm a sucker for the prince of persia sands of time trilogy but i kinda like 2 and 3 more than 1 just because i hate the combat in sands. Also I love the boss battles of warrior within and two thrones, also i think the original voice actor for the prince came back for part 3 which made it sound a lot more canonical and cool

Fun fact. This game is the father to Assassins Creed. I believe for a -very- brief time they actually spoke about making it a canon thing for Assassins Creed. The mystery magical items, the freerunning, the combat? It all just makes sense. However, this was not done and I'm fine with that.

My favourite has to be Warrior Within. I was like 10 when I played and the Dahaka would scare the crap out of me. Could you do a short summary on Warrior Within and Two Thrones as well please??
