Actually, if you really wanted to parody Noel Gallagher, you'd use a northern accent.
Also, they're right on the glasses part. Case in point - me. It's not the distribution of spectacles they're talking about but the increase in eye-strain that does go with playing games on a screen, particularly if the screen is close to you.
When I started playing WoW in 2009, I hadn't been playing any games that required that level of focus on screen. I was more used to games like Civ where you sit back and think and don't have to keep your eyes on the flicker for prolonged periods. As soon as I made the transition, I came down with blinding headaches. Away from the screen, I was fine. While reading from a screen, I was fine. When I started playing WoW...migraine time. Yes, people are all different, but the point is, more kids need glasses because more kids are playing games, and it's really foolish to point and laugh at them because actually, once I had my glasses (the game had tipped me over the edge of a problem, not by damaging my eyes but by pointing out for what activities I actually needed glasses), things improved 100%. It was the clearest case of cause and effect I've ever experienced. I'd imagine similar studies show similar results elsewhere, but because China IS on a crusade against games, it's probably in China where it's become more obvious to point it out.
And look after your eyes. You only get one set. Unlike kidneys...Also rickets, I'd imagine that kids aren't necessarily getting exercise outdoors when it matters. Diet is important, yes...but so is outside play. It's not totally ludicrous if you think about it, and these are academic studies, so they've gone in with an open mind as to the causes and found at least some correlation.
I would NOT be so dismissive of concerns like eye strain. While you mean well with this video, I think you need to be a bit more clued up to what actually needs to be gamer responsibility rather than foisting everything on the other actors in this situation. Being self-aware is better for the image of games and gamers in general. Being a little more investigative is more interesting and more responsible as a commentator than just being totally dismissive of any concerns.

I blame video games for making me a better person. If you think I lied , I can say this all day , all night long. Strategy games made me go back to being myself, the nerd I am. I dont care if people say Im a nerd and boy I love numbers. Attack damage , armor , mg dfn. Poison damage etc etc. I love everything about RPG and strategy games. Wc3 ofc too much , and MTG as well. I fell in love with nerdy stuff after gaming + some games like racing help me memorize places , games that are reactive made me fast. Simulation games help me learned better on a topic. But not just games , I deep dived as well.
And boy did I forgot to say , I also go to murdering after every game I play - atleast that what media would assume.

There have been a variety of special interest groups that have tried to prove a link between violence and violent forms of media over the years. They have never been able to prove that link. And, yes, I said violent forms of media because I know that this has been tried with comic books and with video games. The most that anyone has been able to prove is a link between violent media and a temporary increase in aggression. It wouldn't surprise me if the same link existed between watching competitive sports and a temporary increase in aggression, but no one's going after ESPN.

in Skyrim i solve all my problem by either shouting, shooting someone with an arrow or with a swing of my sword. When i was 08 years old i was smart enough to know that I cannot solve my problem by doing the above unless i want to end up in jail. Video games are as violent as reading a book. When i was a child after learning how Stalin, castro, and similar leaders would take power i would try to do the same thing. Does this mean books should be illegal because i try to become a little tyrant on the playground and in groups?

Older video, maybe an unseen comment. Teachers job is not to make kids stop fighting. It's to teach. It's parents job to raise kids that don't act like garbage in school. I have many family members who teach. Stopping fights is not in their job description, at least not in Ohio. So to any parents or future parents. If you expect the schools to raise your kids they're going to turn out like garbage. Because YOU aren't raising them. I agree with the rest of that point though.

Parents do tend to have that -My kid is an angel- mentality these days lol.
When my son got kicked off the bus for a week , he told us and my wife was like -I'm going to call them right now , they cant do this to my precious little ball of joy- or something to that effect.
I just had one thing to say -What did you do dumbass?- Turns out there was a little more to it , than just randomly being picked to be the kid tossed off the bus this week lol

Chinese kids have bad eyesight because they stay indoors all thew time, they don't get anywhere near enough sunlight. This has been scientifically proven in studies that involved children in China and Mongolia, who have very different lifestyles. It's nearly certain that playing video games all day is part of it, but I'll bet that the insane workload they get in school is too, in addition to the air pollution.

Played games my whole life, I'm also the only member of my family that doesn't need glasses... I own 2 rifles, I'm not violent... I don't drive like and idiot...
But while we're on this subject... What was the excuse for the violence in the wild west, or the crusades? Some pretty bloody times in history, definitely pre video games... But yeah actually now I think about it, that was probably video games...

When it comes to racing games or driving games I'd say they can be harder than real life and prepare you for it. Have you ever tried to drive normally in gta it's not easy and trying to get my licenses in gran turismo 3 took 10yo me 100s of crashes and like a month whereas I aced my real license test 1st try and have been driving for like 15 years with no accidents or tickets and I never took drivers ed.

If you're a reasonable person who did not vote for our current communist president, you realize that the media doesn't even try to twist things anymore. They just lie straight up and weak people who cannot control their emotions and who hate Trump for reasons they couldn't explain will simply accept these lies so as not to consider that maybe they've never looked into any of this stuff for one moment.
