Yeh i'v only just got round to getting this game like NOW, a good 2 years later cause i saw it dirt cheap in my local CEX store. I gotta say i was wrong about this game, when it came out i just watched the trailer and a few gameplay clips and i just straight out judged it, calling it a poor man's COD, thinking it was just gonna be some cheap run'n'gun shooter. But it's really not that at all.
I'm going to really defend this game, i like that it has respectably open level,s sure they could do with being abit more full of enemies, but i like being given the whole bleak, survival aspect, having to do some scavenging and salvaging for resources to trade in. I luv games that allow me to level up my character, earn xp and improve my skills, AND upgrade my weapons and this game has all that. Imo Resistance plays smoothly too, i especially like being able to sprint and slide when you press duck button.
I like the story overall, i like that they tried to get you emotionally invested in the characters, they have stories to tell and a past, and really make you feel you're all in this together, in this post apoc world of the Machines and you're trying o survive. Now yes the game has flaws, for me it's really just mainly that the graphics dont look polished, and that it just looks fairly outdated, like a old-gen game, almost like a PS3 game, but the T-800s look very well designed overall, and they are quite tough, some nice challenging moments in this game.
I think when you play Terminator Resistance overall you get this feeling that the developers were truly passionate about making the best Terminator game they could, but were mostly stuck with a limited budget and resources. I'm honestly sorry i didn't buy this on release and properly support it, i think in his age of greedy corporations muscling in on all our games, and with so many let downs, rushed, half-finished games on released, basically done to use the paying customer as somekind of games-tester. It's just made me personally very wary of games when they come out, and frankly if they don't look up to snuff, i'm very quick to judge them, and totally avoid them until they just do down hella cheap in price.

If you like T1 and T2 it would be almost impossible to not like this game. The dialogue, sound effects, robots, guns, and environments all scream that Era of Terminator lore. I think they nailed it! However, if you aren't a fan of early Terminator movies or only like games with AAA budget and polish, this game DOES NOT have that... but it wasn't trying for that. Also DO NOT play on Easy mode. The game and AI are much much better on the hard modes.

It's a good game my only complaint is the loading. It generally takes a entire minute for the game to load whether you die or go back to base. It's very annoying and slows down gameplay a lot. Other than that the game is fantastic though the generic guns are irritating would have love to see more weapons in the game. The lasers are awesome but it mostly makes me end up sticking to those weapons instead.

So you're telling me the game developers have respected it more than the last two films....which critics adored for social justice pandering and identity politics...and people are surprised fans like the game for being respectful dumb fun.
Critics like IGN and GamingBolt are in bubbles and completely dissociated with the average Joe. They don't even know the audience.

It's got derivative (though functional) mechanics, and a truly mediocre combat loop. It's the absolute love and respect for the source material that made this game good. As mentioned by other comments, this is one of the most iconic sci fi universes ever created and its used to full effect here in the crafted narrative.

I don't even consider IGN reviews for anything beyond a good laugh. The game journalists doing this game listed a con as not doing anything new. Who cares. It does what it was meant to do well. A good Terminator game isn't easy to come by to begin with so I'd say the dev's have something to brag about in that regard.

-choose the dog's name; A) Max or B) Wolfie-
It was the small details like this that made the Game for me, they captured the feel of Judgement Day perfectly. I hope for another entry from the same team -
Also; -It's not COD, 3/10- -Paid Reviewers

-Sometimes you just want a regular ol' video game.-
Yes! Speaking of which, I hope the upcoming space marine 2 game scratches that itch for 40k fans. No need to reinvent the wheel, just improve upon the 1st space marine, which was a fun game.

I just finished Terminator Resistance Enhanced on the PS5. I gotta say I loved it. I don-t know how much they improved from the PS4 version other then the graphics, but I really enjoyed it. Now I need to play the Infiltrator mode.
