Yakuza 0 is my all time fav small open world ever
I beat the story and it said you only completed 30% of that game
Like the world in if you can travel it in two runs around the world yet it s packed to the brim with side quests and crazy stuff to immersive yourself with
Kinda put every other ubisoft game to shame bc not only its fun
It proved that its not about the size it s about gameplay, story and things that matters to the player

I absolutely think we re reaching a point of diminishing returns when it comes to map size. In fact, I think it s starting to actively hurt the experience. Open worlds that are pretty but largely empty can t hold a candle to maps that are 10x smaller but 10x more detailed. Fields, trees, bushes, lakes etc all get boring after a while, but on smaller maps that are detailed, there s always something new to find.

Terraria should be on the list even if you choose the large world setting since when you start building small towns in each biome you will realize how close to each other they are and realize that you dont have enough space. The large world setting is pretty big but when you start to map out and make landmarks or builds it wont feel the same as when you just started out exploring

Dying light 1. incredible. in my top 5 favorite games of all time. and my favorite zombie game ever. game was flawless and just made you feel like you were in the environment yourself. the sound, the characters are perfec. and it's the only game to date that at night, made me literally fear for what was lurking lol. It was just a perfect game.

I played sleeping dogs for the first time a year ago and it is a great game. I hope with Embracer having the ip within their portafolio they will do with it at least a remastered, a sequel will be great for a game that deserved more and went into shadows for corpos' greed. And Gravity Rush is a great game, but you need time in order to love it.

Sleeping Dogs is good but it's outdated af. the driving is like your vehicle is glued to the floor, there are no random events. no free roam gunfights, and the police are the dumbest police in the world. all in all thos game just feels cheap and last-last-gen. but not gonna lie, the story got me hooked. but that's all what is good about it.

This is great. I am a bit tired of very huge open world atm. time and basically patience are running low. So any small open world games you know of please let us know. I have Batman Arkham Knight and Stray. Spidey looks cool, even AC Syndicate and the one in Honk Kong (have to look the name up again. Thanks you guys rock.

Sleeping Dogs is one of the most underappreciated games of all time. Its such an awesome game everyone should play thru at least once. The characters are well written and likeable or hateable, theres a great backstory, the entire thing. Also, the wedding mission. thats all ill say. Lots of feels

Seeing Infamous 2 be listed as a small open world makes me feel old. I played Infamous 2 a couple of months after it was released and I felt as though New Marais was such a big and fun diverse city to explore. I beat that game 4 times. 2 times good and 2 times bad.

Love the blend of ac unity and syndicate gameplay. Unity had the better open world and a smaller map. It s try that the game was janky when it first came out but now it s one of the best ac games in terms of map and gameplay. Huge miss to go with syndicate here

Yakuza, dead rising and saints row reboot. Sleeping Dogs is pretty large. I'd say medium in the map scale. Sims, leisure suit larry, Hitman and Arkham Asylum are great smaller map games. I prefer smaller maps with lots of content instead of lots of empty space.

Sleeping Dogs was one of my favourite games. Finishing it left a little void in my heart (one that ended up getting filled by the Yakuza series. I booted it up again at the start of the year and it honestly still holds up. It truly is a gem of the game.

7: 35 Did you actually mean 2019, or 2009? Because 2019 wasn t all THAT long ago, and I don t recall the open world landscape changing all _that_ much in the couple of years in between
Edit: Ah, Demon Souls and 2009 gets mentioned not long after.
