10 Gaming Problems That ANNOYED US FOR YEARS Juvenoia: on the PC gamer side
>physics engine is tied to fps
you'll be surprised how many 360 era games had this, so it basically forced player, who can easily run a the game at 200 fps, have to cap the fps at 30 or 60
>unable to install game on other than C:
this is a rare one, but when it happens its annoying. Happened to much more older titles, Far Cry 2 did this. a lot of pc gamers have two storage drives, C: is where windows is installed and is usually a much slower and cheaper HDD, while D: is a much faster SSD with alot of storage
>multiple launchers
easily the most annoying, tons of Ubisoft and EA games that are sold on Steam, in order to play their games they will forcibly install their respective launcher

I really hate all of them, but the single player online stuff pisses me a damn lot is on a console like I remember one MGS when I didn't have PS Plus that kept pissing me off opening the menu of PS Plus to buy and the whole game it keeps going into that damn annoying crap like if it was a free-to-play game that need advertising grrrr.
But what pisses me most is really AI and what we can do with our character in most games, like in visuals we are on a point that I like most games and it's one of the minor things for nowadays as most games have good visuals, but a lot of them we can't do almost nothing with the character and the AI is always the same repetitive boring crap that bores me very fast sadly
I mean games for me lost the magic, it's not like on PS1 era which everything was magic for me even though I started before that with 2D games on MS-DOS.
Ps: really liked Red Dead Redemption 2 for the fact that there's a good amount of stuff to do and we can have at least the most basic communication with everyone or almost everyone even though it's still far from perfect, but it's definitely a damn good step that every game should have learned with it.

I live in Puerto Rico. We have just been hit by Huracane Fiona, so their are still a lot of utilities down. In my neighborhood, no power, (I have solar panel, so we get by) with that comes no home internet. And because of this I can't play a lot of the single player games I have downloaded on my PC, because they have to connect to the internet. GhostRecon: Wildlands (a Ubisoft game) is the worst offender. Playing games offline on the Epic launcher is a hassle too.
Pirates are always going to find a way, just let the legit, cash paying customer use what we paid for.
I'm getting agitated just writing this. It's bad enough having to go thru a natural desaster, especially when you don't have something to keep your mind distracted.

Bethesda's NPC schedules are always busted. I have never once been able to find that kid from the Dark brotherhood quest Garus Maro or whatever his name is where he's supposed to be. It usually involves me fast traveling around until he stops in a city. It also annoys me that sleep outfit was a thing in the GECK/Construction Kits, but Bethesda never implemented them.
Bioshock Infinite was notorious for hidden load screens. EVERY time you got on an elevator there was dialogue, hiding a load screen and slowing the game down.
Also, the number of things that Ark Survival Evolved does that should put it on almost every list you guys do. I mean seriously, you guys don't seem very familiar with that game.

The always online thing is one I especially hate, even though I pretty much am always online. What if my modem kicks the bucket and it's going to be a couple of days before my internet provider can get out to me, or what if they go down for a an extended period (as happened here in Canada to Rogers customers not long ago? I can see it being a thing even in a single player game if there's some server side world simulation going on (I think The Division 2 does that, or whatever it is Kojima has planned that will leverage the Microsoft Cloud could be SP, but other than that there's no damn excuse.

I actually like the limited saves (saviour schnapps) in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. You can save by sleeping in a bed. Eventually you can craft your own Saviour Schnapps.
But, that mechanic added so much tension to the game, especially since you spend a lot of time being a weak nobody. If I had to walk to another town and I didn't have a Schnapps, my butthole would pucker. I really felt that anxiety of what I could encounter.
I hope they do a Kingdom Come 2 so much and that they keep the schnapps. Or at least give you option to keep it.

Overreliance on micro transactions in paid games and majority of cosmetics are bought which takes away the old feeing of unlocking stuff you earned. Games released unfinished and takes years for them to fix and it s just sad. Sequels to games that they make the same mistakes at release when the game before at the end they mostly got everything to be good and fine then go and come out with another game and they take away all the improvements that they took year(s) adding and fixing to the previous.

I ve always been slightly annoyed when my character can walk faster than the NPC that I m supposed to follow in order to progress the story. It s a tad annoying when I already know where to go but when you walk out of range from the person talking to you, they will stop and stand until you come back within range before they start walking forward again. So instead of enjoying the story and listening to them talk, it s a constant game of find the range just to get this half cutscene over with lol

The thing that bugs me in Bethesda RPGs is when the game directs you to talk to a particular NPC to advance or finish a mission, then when you arrive, they're having a conversation with some other NPC, and, if you try to talk to them, you get, This person is busy. So, you have to stand there like an idiot, waiting for these two to finish their conversation, because apparently whatever news you have for them isn't nearly as important as what they want for dinner.

The thing that annoys me is a character creator that's used for every NPC except your squad mates. There's nothing like spending time ob creating your character and then running across 4 other characters who look like yours through the game. This could easily be fixed by offering just a few hairstyles that aren't used by any other character. It was super jolting in Dragon Age: Inquisition where I created a bald Elven mage. And then met Solas.

I always found one of biggest things that bothers me about games that have limited saves, especially in modern games (such as the aforementioned Kingdom Come: Deliverance, is it almost feels like video game developers assume gamers have no life. Oh you have a family/friend party to go to? Special date? You have to go to bed or get to work? Well unless you have the SPECIFIC SAVE ITEM then you will lose ALL that progress you made.

i had to give this video a thumbs down due to the RE save system negative criticism. the limited saves is one of its strongest features, whats the point of a horror survival game if you can constantly save anywhere at anytime without consequence. thats ultimately criticing shooter games for having limited ammo or the annoyance of having to reload your gun everytime it ran out of ammo.

I only partially agree with the limited saves point. I don't like it by default in games, but as part of a hard mode? Definitely. Makes all commitment to decisions more deliberate. I love how it works in RE2 Remake, for example. Like. I know the game already because I played in normal. I know the puzzles, the combat. limited saves makes every decision count. I have more fun that way.

This is mainly a problem for PC K+M controls and older games without proper Analog movement, but one thing that always annoyed me was Walking Slower than an NPC, or Jogging Faster than them. You could not match their speed, so you were constantly catching up from walking too slow or stopping and waiting for them to catch up. It always annoys me when that's the case.

#10 hit me so hard. I literally can't get beyond the single-player tutorial in Rider's Republic because my internet connection isn't 100% stable and a wired connection isn't feasible. The game is actually really fun, but I basically burned 20 to learn that you you can't regularly play the game (let alone get thru the tutorial) w/out a steady internet connection.
