Stadia in trouble, modern warfare 2 ruined by cheats, & more
video description
Cheaters, DDOs hackers, all that stuff ruined Destiny 2 for me and other multiplayer shooters (CoD mainly) as well.
With Destiny 2 people are purposely trying to match up with xbox players in their team because it messes with the connection, PS users get the smelly end of the stick, especially ps4 players.
Its just not fun anymore, like 30 40% of the games i play there's always that 1 dude who's not even in a clan or wearing any mods but has insane movement, perfect aim and seems to know exactly where people are at all times.
Sadly turning off crossplay doesnt seem to be a viable option either, because it is pretty much impossible to find a lobby on ps5.
Dont want to deal with any of that, so i went back to playing singleplayer games.
If they cant do it right, to hell with them.
I had fun.
Maybe one day they'll do right by everyone and eliminate cheaters and hackers alltogether but i sincerely doubt it, since hacking and catching hackers is essentially a never-ending cat and mouse game.
Therefore i cant put my faith in crossplay. It's just not working.

I played the beta on playstation 5 both weekends. There were hackers in some of my lobbies. Ricochet anti-cheat has never worked and it's just a simple PR stunt. Warzone and the MP have been overrun by hackers since the early days of Warzone. It's all fueled by the streaming industry and the overwhelming societal trend to be a celebrity content creator. The e-sports and media platforms as well as the game studios are all complicit because it's endless free advertising and marketing.
There is no reversing something like this either, cheating in the gaming industry is becoming the new botox and silicone of Hollywood, the Pro Tools of the music industry. It'll be normalized to the point there is no distinction between hacking and authenticity.

If they changed their business model, it might of worked. I think that if they sold stadia as a tier subscription service with access to a game library it would of been more successful. Like this:
Tier 1: base library access with games up to a certain year (let's say 2012) - 4, 99
Tier 2: expanded library access (games up to 2017 for example) - 9, 99
Tier 3: games up to current year - 14, 99 - no access to early releases or new games when they're launched (waiting period of 8 months for example)
Premium tier: full access to library, early releases (when made available) playing games on release and discount on game merch - 19, 99
Too bad the issues and business model didn't work. It could of been a game changer for sure.

I'm a diehard monster hunter fan at this point after 100% completing world and working on rise and played through the previous games as well. I just don't want it to be another dauntless, it was cool but fell behind tons of microtransactions. On top of that with MHRS almost all if not all weapons have a deflection ability now, or at least a good form of blocking or dodging. Hopefully they have more than just dodging, I love seeing the deflects in Rise. I've also been playing a lot on my steam deck recently, it feels vastly different than it did a few months back. You can emulate old consoles, switch to windows to play certain games, and they've started pumping out the Decks faster. Hoping they keep up the streak.

Never used Stadia, c'mon how many platforms am I going to play on. and you have to get the games yada yada. it never ends. And a 70 dollar game on a hand held console. no thanks. I usually wait for the sales lol I took a 'leap of faith' on AC Valhalla and ended up uninstalling it. spent a lot of money on that. Then I bought Shadow of the Tombraider and guess what I finished it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I killed alot of people. awesome! Makes me think I'd like third person shooter. I am not in any hurry to get the latest and greatest. Besides it helps to have a couple of reviews. Well done as always!

Hey Jake, hearing you only got around to two books this year broke my heart a bit. If you're open to recommendations my favourite book this year has been Rutger Bregman's 'Humankind'. It's a beautiful book about the immense capacity for human's to be good to one another told using real historical examples such as the Christmas Day truce in WW1 and the story of real school kids trapped on a Pacific Island (turns out Lord of the Flies is kind of nonsense. It's a really uplifting and readable book, I finished it first time through in only an afternoon. I hope you enjoy it.

Only played a few games from the mw2 Beta. I didn't encounter any cheating, I don't believe. but it was rubber banding/lagging just enough to make me uninstall after playing through several games. It could've just been my connection, but everything else I played after was running fine. gun play seemed good. I'm not a fan of the over-complication of recent COD's however (Attachments, Run/Sprint system) going for realism is great and all, but I guess I'd prefer maybe the older, more arcade/simple feel.

Im just curious why people MAKE the hacks for FPS. Im assuming for some, its just a side job for some extra income. For others it might be a little game in and of itself? Oh they updated their anti-cheat? Challenge accepted! or something to that effect? Others might make em for self use just to ruin someone elses day for kicks? I feel the first two are the more viable reasons than the third.

Yep, ran into quite a few cheaters on the xbox/pc beta. I also tried the beta on PS and didn't run into many noticeable cheaters. Of course there are console cheaters using Cronus, but they're harder to detect. Nevertheless, this really highlights that they need to remove PC from crossplay. They also need to look into what Fortnite did to get Cronus banned from the game.

I really enjoyed skyrim, ive put over a thousand hours in it but right now i kinda feel like skyrim needs to die.
70? After so many years?
Yeah no thx, skyrim needs to die.
Just leave it alone and let it die with dignity instead of exhuming this corpse and dragging it trough town.
I hate to see it milked for all it's worth, i really do. it deserves better

Sorry but omg people are cheating on call of duty? Lol first person shooters are the most notorious for cheating. I really believe there are more cheaters than legit gamers. Lagging, lag switching, scripting, aimbots, profile hacks, and modding. It's really sad how most of them get away with it. They can get banned but they can also just get a new account and do it again.

It baffles me cheating is such a problem. People that cheat are the epitome of scum so i generally dont think overall there are that many scumbags out there, but look at how many cheat at VIDEO GAMES and that opinion is disputed. I genuinely hope someone that cheats at any game sees this and knows we hate them. They are bottom of the barrel darwin award level fools

For a game series to be around as long as CoD has been there s only one explanation that seems relevant they allow the cheat software and the Cronus to ruin a game Fortnite has made the use of Cronus a bannable offense Activision just flat out doesn t care all of their Anti-cheats that they try to come up with always fails and always seems like a publicity stunt

CODMWF2: I only got in 1 match during the beta, but I did find it to be an odd experience. First couple minutes, I got several kills. Not great, but not bad either. It's maybe 5 minutes in and I swear a whole new tier of players swept in. Suddenly, they could see me the MICROsecond I rounded a corner. Nuh uh. That's fishy as shit. The cheating still exists.

For the modern warfare 2 beta i actually suspected there may have been some cheating involved like some of my deaths kinda didnt make sense even when i watch the replays. The wall hacking especially i couldnt tell if the person had an audio cue from my movement or they were straight up cheating. For some i think they managed to hide it well from my killcam
