BEST GAMES OF 2022 Ryan: Out of the games I played this year I Have 6 best picks.
6. Stray
5. A Plague Tale Requiem
4. Sifu
3. Horizon Forbidden West
2. God Of War Ragnarok
1. Elden Ring.
2 others I played but wouldn't recommend Mario Strikers Battle League (severe lack of content) and the callisto protocol the biggest disappointment I've played since cyberpunk. Yes I'm calling it a bad game (pretty graphics aren't enough to hold the game up. I haven't played Cult of the lamb, Rollerdrome, modern warfare II (played warzone 2 though) etc. I'll correct that in the future.
Finally have a great Christmas Jake, gameranx team and everyone in the comments section. Let's us hope for a good year of gaming in 2023.

I have been Loving Calisto Protocol. I pre-ordered the PS5 version and im loving it so much. I've been dying for a game like this for SO LONG. Yet I haven't understood why so many people immediately review bombed this game with negative reviews? It made me realize that I don't go out of my way to give negative reviews to things I don't like, so why is this Decent unique game not even getting a chance to make impressions on to the public without the mass reviewers uploading all these negative takes and it's like over petty stuff. The game isn't perfect or a masterpiece but I don't need a game to be a masterpiece for me to greatly enjoy it. I absolutely love this game. I love it's lean into physics effects, melee combat, dying, gross detail but in a facinating way. But regardless I love this game. It gives me the best vibes of the Xbox 360 era, I'm excited to see what else Glen Schofield is going to do. Plus they are going to come out with add on dlc to Calisto Protocol. Idk why people are being so bitter and petty towards this game? Idk really? I really don't> it's really refreshing in this day of age and I hope we get a lot more games like this in all sorts of different ways because it's so refreshing to get unique, obscure, creative macabre odd games. I Love the Calisto Protocol! I'm really curious WHY we all have been unsatisfied with so many online multiplayer games or poorly built hollow open world games. Then, games like High on Life Calisto Protocol come out and we aren't giving these games the appreciation that we should: (Even tho they aren't perfect, they are more of what we hope to see more of. Instead of all these hollow broken games. These game's at least have been crafted with passion and give me the best vibes in games that I love and missed so much. We should give these unique games more appreciation is all I'm saying. I'm not saying - oh say they are perfect and your favorite masterpieces. No. I just hope to see more games like these 2 games. They are crafted with depth of detail, character design, environment design, physics effects and damage impactful effects in Calisto Protocol. I hope to see more of that stuff. I love good physics in games. I care less about Ray Tracing or the best graphics compared to good physics mechanics or well built environments. Singleplayer games. 3rd person games. Traversal Mechanic's. Etc. I support that)

I loved cult of the lamb at first but the console (Xbox) version was completely broken as I got to the late stages. It became a slide show in the last few boss battles and invisible enemies kept blocking certain rooms in the dungeons until I got lucky and hit them. Maybe they fixed it by now but shocked it wasn't mentioned here! I couldn't finish the last dungeon.

No new ones for me this year. I actually just purchased a switch a few months ago just so I can play older titles like mario and Zelda. Now I just started assassins creed Valhalla that I got for Christmas last year and I love it. Looking towards getting a ps5 this year just for the dead space remake.
Hope you, falcon, and the crew have a very merry christmas

Here are some of my favorites this year on top of some of the games you've already mentioned (like Sifu, God of War, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Tunic, & Elden Ring):
Triangle Strategy, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, The Quarry, Live A Live, Rollerdrome, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, & Marvel's Midnight Suns

reply

The ones I enjoyed the most were Bayonetta 3 and Xenoblade 3. The Quarry has been a highlight, currently going through that with a friend.
I enjoyed the first two worlds of Sonic but dropped it at the 3rd world when all that mandatory 2D stuff came in which really threw away the charm and fun of it.

My favorite new game this year was TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Had a lot of fun playing. Even beat the game with every playable character. I haven't gotten into Evil West yet, but I have it downloaded and I'm excited to try it soon. Probably going to try High on Life as well since it's on game pass.

Thank you all. I look forward to your videos every day and they definitely help me in my game choices. This year I loved Horizon Forbidden West. And Stray. Stray was gorgeous and something totally new. And HFW. What can I say? Massive. Gorgeous. Immersive. Loved it all the way through

Disney dream light valley has been addicting for me this year.
Need for speed unbound isn t groundbreaking but the visuals are so fun it gives NFS meet s midnight club meets burnout. A lot of fun.
God of war Ragnarok is amazing as said as well as horizon forbidden west.

I thought the art direction for Return to Monkey Island was interesting, and then I realized they probably went there for two reasons.
1. It's an art style that seems to have become very familiar on the web.
2. Keeps them from being sued by Disney.

Citizen Sleeper and As Dusk Falls are two games that really surprised me this year, definite must plays for anyone into a good story. I might give Norco a try as that seems somewhat similar, thanks Wan! Is that Obi-Wan or just Wan btw?
reply

Molds you into a different player is definitely facts. After beating Elden Ring, the first action game I played was God of War, and I definitely noticed my dodging and overall timing was definitely way better that it ever was before lol
