Wild Hearts - Before You Buy Kyvan_: The only two problems I see across all the reviews are: graphical/optimization issues, and the price tag. The former can be fixed in patches and hotfixes; the latter is well, a sign of the times I guess. And this is a good thing, because I've seen nothing but glowing raves about the combat, the endemic life, the maps, the monsters, the loot, the Karakuri system. Its basically a fundamentally good game, and its by Koei Tecmo which honestly inspires confidence because they rly put effort in their games. I mean, even Elden Ring sucked bad in terms of graphics and performance in the early days.
The 30-45fps does sound -. - though lol. Hopefully the patch they're putting out next week makes a serious dent in the performance stuff.

This is a spiritual successor to the Toukiden games of the same devs, which also went head to head with the Monster Hunter games of that time period. Toukiden 2 ended with a visual theme where the medieval Japanese theme was starting to combine with the Karakuri theme. There was literally a partner NPC in 2 that was a human soul fused onto a Karakuri body. I'm quite surprised and disappointed Falcon seems to not know of these games when they were actually good and quite unique at the time. Toukiden 2 was even impressive for being a seemingly open-world-ish Monster Hunter game before World was a thing, and it had a Vita version too for portable players. Might want to at least try 2 since it's definitely quite fun even now. Only thing I dislike with this new game is that it's EA. You use a launcher to launch another launcher that launches a launcher that launches the game. .should be enough to tell you why I dislike EA.

Giving it a try. I like Monster Hunter a lot, but so far the tutorial zone is really boring so far, and the bow was just terrible (not interesting. Not trying to be negative, just hoping it gets a lot better. It doesn't run bad, but it's certainly not great even on my 3080ti, so hopefully it gets patched soon. The base building seems like it will be surprisingly fun though.
One really weird thing that stands out to me though is the silliness of including pronouns for your character, including the fake they/them singular pronoun. Seriously, stop appeasing these people. You don't enable children when they're having a tantrum. Ignore them.

Oh I didn t know this was made by the Dynasty Warriors people that would explain why it s crap. Thanks for clearing that up. Honestly the only people who are gonna like this is gonna be anyone who hasn t played Monster Hunter because boy does Monster Hunter World make this game completely pointless. Graphics are bland where MHW are amazing. Gameplay is clunky and boring compared to MH perfectly balanced fighting, co op is broken and the building is such an afterthought. If you ve played any serious amount of Monster Hunter then I d wouldn t recommend this at all. Its just a worse MH game in every way.

I stopped playing Monster Hunter World after they introduced that Clutch Claw gimmick that was very fiddly but was very necessary in order for you to maximize your damage especially against the later ranked monsters. Then they announced Rise and it was revealed that they'll be introducing the whole Wirebug thing and I just knew it would be necessary like in World.
I just want simple monster hunting game where I just hit them with my weapon without all those gimmicks that you have to learn on top of learning the weapon. I'm hoping that this game doesn't add too many of those gimmicks.

I really wanted this game to do well, but I'm gonna wait until they fix the performance issues of the game before I even think of buying it. I'm tired of giving studios money for their unoptimized games, Gotham Knights, Cyberpunk 2077 (On Release, Hogwarts Legacy, Forspoken, and now Wild Hearts. I'm just so tired of these unoptimized games, I have a RTX 2060, and yeah its not that great but it's not like this is a graphics card from 8 years ago or something and yet I still can't even play these games properly. What a shame.

This feels like they used God eater 3 blood arts combat and mobility system but used Fortnite style construction to achieve that.
MHW also had weapon rollback system but mats weren't refunded cause it didn't make sense over there but here it makes sense when u can create structures so refund is possible.
Really sad that ppl just skip over God eater series in MH genre when GE and Toukiden made MH change it's format to add somewhat of a story not just mindlessly hunting monsters.

The game is really bad compared to monster hunter, dauntless if free to play and thousand times better than this, the visuals are disgusting and the performance is a joke let alone the bad camera angle the hit and miss karakuri system which looks cool but works very poorly in game and for some reason anything you build stays there instead of despawning after a certain amount of items built, needed another year of development and it's crazy gameranx is not highlighted this

God, why is it that no matter how powerful these consoles keep getting, we STILL have shitty stuttering, dropped frames, blah blah blah. Damn. And the graphics don't even look that intense in this one. Well, I guess it's a wait for me until they patch out the frames, and that's a shame. I just cant justify paying 70. 00 for a game that has these kind of performance issues. Way too many games with these problems, and it's making me crazy. All I want it 60fps. That's it!

As a Nioh fan I've heard a bit of chat about this game, thing is the gimmick just isn't very appealing to me, I'm not really into base building and pocket platforms and such. No offense to those who enjoy base building and whatnot, but that's not what draws me to these games, y'know? 7: 56: It was really courteous of that monster to stand still for ten interrupted seconds while the player built their contraption, and again at 8: 24, also 10: 54 and 12: 15.

Thinking about it, This sort of game would work well for my idea. that would be Pretty different from these current games. Defeat these big monster not just for crafting materials to make better gear, but to get new skills abilities and powers. could even be stats. giving many more reasons to keep fighting even the same bosses over and over. Each type of monster/boss being able to grant certain skills and abilities.

This has sold me on this, always wanted to like the monster hunter franchise but never could get really into it other than MH World. But, I like the speed of the gameplay and the knowledge it's a more streamlined version of what inspired it.
Ok EA now just keep doing these kind of games and don't shoot yourself in the foot by cramming in a bunch of unnecessary crap at the finish line.

As a long time Monster Hunter fan of 12+ years I love Wild Hearts and some of the jank reminds me of early MH. The biggest issues are optimization but i think there s still enough to love. After a few patches it should be a recommend for everyone imo. But for now maybe only die hard hunting genre fans. It s unique enough to not be a clone and that s good too.

Its weird to me many new games from good to bad lately have poor optimalization, stuttering, drop framerates even on high-end hardwares and need patch to fix it and worse part is when the developer itself never intended to bring patch to fix some issues on their game
reply

Good to see when before you buys touch on the over all playability of the games at release. Too many games are releasing with performance issues as of late and it is making it to where I don't even want to touch them for months on end until they work the bugs out.
