i preordered S. T. A. L. K. E. R. 2 when its release date was december of 2022, the war really messed with game development, and GSC lost some staff to the fighting. they updated the release date to be 2023, then december of 2023 and now Q1 2024. even more frustrating was the cyber-attack at GSC that released incomplete information about the unfinished game, forcing GSC to divert resources away from development and into cybersecurity. GSC interactive have had a wild and crazy couple of years and deserve to take all the time they need to create a product they can be proud of into the future, but also time enough to process the events happening around them every day. stay safe in the emissions, and take care of each other stalkers.

Authors sometimes take two decades or so to properly tell the story they want to. King with the Dark Tower, or ASOIAF.
The audience does get stressed, i. e. the letters in Wizard and Glass to King from literally terminal people asking to know the end. But the audience would rather get a true product. A game with the depth of a novel AND the visual splendor of a Hollywood blockbuster.
It's better to not rush it in the end for a bigtime AAA game. Cyberpunk got
Lucky going back and rebuilding. GTA 6 can't afford a start like that, thus the wait for a trailer even. We are all Hoping anyway

I think if a game is going to release before its ready (like they to often are) then they should sell at a discounted price, their not selling a full product so why pay full price? You could argue it gets patched for free but more common practice is sell the rest as DLC. The Callipso Protocol comes to mind instantly, you get sold a game thats about 75-80% comeplete but then the game ends on a cliffhanger after about 9 hours. what did they do sell you the last chapter as paid DLC
Absolutely disgusting practice. sell un unfinished games then dont charge full price.

Why do people complain when a game is delayed to fix issues before it comes out and allows for more testing but then complain because they should have delayed it to fix things. You cannot have both. Just allow the delay, but only if the game isnt still plagued with problems. I understand things should have been in the game but are not. Some things are just not possible and others would delay the game too long. So there has to be a little give and take.

The Skull & Bones situation is really fascinating actually. Without going into it too much, it's basically like a Ubisoft, Singapore, money laundering, investment capitol mess. Basically they're required by contract to keep working on it, and getting government funded assistance, among other things. It's very strange. It was a game that wasn't actually intended to be made in the first place, but got started out of obligation.

A little delay for time to further polish or get a better release window isn't all bad, especially if you factor in a garbage launch can destroy a highly hyped game and franchise. Plus 2023 was a really great year for games with only a few outliers being bad and 2024 looks to be pretty good too. There's also a strong chance that 2025 starts off great with GTA 6, so we get a few more years in a row of great games.

Just cancel Skull and Bones it looks terrible they kept delaying it and changing it to the point it's nothing like what fans wanted we wanted Assassin's Creed Black Flag style but now it's nothing like AC you can't bored other ships to sword fight, you can't explore islands you can just walk around small areas to buy things, you can't climb up and dawn your ship, you can't jump in the sea and swim around

3: 29 I used to care about that game. I'll let my children's grandchildren enjoy it when it releases. I'm just going to forget about it again. I already removed it from my steam wishlist and from the store. I used to think the idea was great but at this point the idea is just a carrot on a string and by the time they stop trailing it, nobody will still be following

The only reason Skull & Bones is still in production is because they legally cannot cancel the game. They signed themselves into an agreement with Singapore to put out a game. Why Ubisoft hasn't just pushed it out the door and cut their losses, I don't know. But it may be part of the agreement to actually have a Triple A level game and not just some shovelware title.

Ark 2 prolly never coming out cause they really upset the community by taking away the old servers then rereleased the same same game with terrible optimizations that runs just like the early access version and forcing everyone to buy another copy now u cant host ur own server putting that old xbox one to actual use

I'm starting to think they set these initial release dates KNOWING it will be delayed, so the game gets free publicity while they finish things up and the hype builds and builds. When's the game gonna be out? Tell them whatever and it doesn't matter, the game will come out when it comes out.

Skull & Bones will flop. They sank too much money into it and the gameplay is genuine trash. You are bound to the ship and can't dismount which is a bummer. They had the potential to make a more realistic/gritty pirate game that may have been able to compete with Sea of Thieves.

I've been looking forward to Homeworld 3 for 20 years now
But, what about Space Marine 2? It's been slated for 2023 all year, but I don't see them releasing before 2024. I really want to see it come out soon. But I want it to be the sequel the first Space Marine deserves

this might be an unpopular opinion but maybe devs and publishers should stop announcing release dates when the games they're working on are nothing more than concepts or in early development. Release dates should only be announced when the game is very near completion.

Speaking as a Destiny fan I wouldn't say they've done live service right its just other companies have done it majorly wrong so Bungie looks great in comparison. Most D2 fans will tell you they either hate the seasonal model or are just indifferent to it.

I don t understand why DC with the amazing rogue gallery of amazing characters, they always seem to push for Suicide Squad which is a shit group of characters IMO
What about an Arkham Type of Green Arrow game, or Constantine? So many possibilities

Don t get me wrong but I m not concerned with graphical quality as much as depth of mechanics. We are playing outward right now as a couple and it s is just amazing. Graphics have come so far that even bad graphics today are pretty great.
