Palworld: 10 Things Players HATE How the Pal spheres catch rate works. Is the original number before throwing the ball is a total chance of capturing. Then the first number that shows after hitting it is your first roll. Which is higher then the total chance. It rolls if it hits it goes to the second roll which is much higher and if that hits you catch it.
Let's say you were to flip a coin twice. Your chance of getting heads twice it's 25%, even though each coin toss is a 50% chance heads or tails. Very similar thing here. Where for the total chance before throwing is just your chance of hitting both rolls and sometimes you get unlucky. Just with Pal Spheres it gives you the lower chance first and if that hits you are more likely to hit the second roll.
You don't have to go into the game files to figure this out as it is pretty clear. Still most people who don't use a bit of logical reasoning are just gonna think that the game is lying to them at first. It's really not that complicated.
Also level and what Pal you are trying to catch plays into catch rate. A level 33 Pengullet is still easier to catch then a level 33 Mammorest, but is much harder to catch then a level 4 Pengullet.

Gameranx, I love you, but you or the community got quite a few wrong in this one.
Number 10: You are supposed to use your pals to craft and not do it manually, that is why its hold to craft. You can do this from minute 5 ingame, just capture a pal and put it to work in your workbench for you while you do other stuff.
Number 9: Higher lvl pals are harder to capture, you have to lvl up Your capture rate in the anubis statue as you progress, also make better pal spheres.
Number 8: I half agree, but once you unlock more than one base(about lvl 15) you can just TP between the old base and the new one though the PalBox.
Number 7: You can just change it in the world settings as you point out. Same for servers. I don't see the issue here, Minecraft is the same way.
6, 5 and 4 I do agree XD, AI overall is quite bad. Devs are aware of this and claim that will adress it in future updates as you mentioned.
Number 3: Stairs. I remember you got this wrong previously on another video, and I do agree that is inconvenient. FIRST build the walls, then the stairs, that includes the half will things. When putting a stair you have to make either a side wall and/or a back wall towards where the stair is facing, and point at one of the 3 walls when placing the stair. Yes it is finicky but not that hard to figure out.
Number 2: Yes they are finicky again with placement. Honestly just build in a flat area, as for most survival games this just makes life easier.
Number 1: While I kinda agree that some materials are harder to get at the beginning, you can farm them in certain spots. Ore and Coal specifically, you can build bases for that purpose alone just find a spot with natural deposits of those close to each other, there is a few known spots good for it. Then the pals can take care of mining and gathering it. I would guess that this is kinda why you can have more than one base as you lvl up.

By features and function this is so much more a rip off of Ark than it is of Pokemon. The aesthetic is pokemon and a few designs are pretty close to rip offs, or speaking generously, share the same source inspiration.
Moving bases. I don't think you even really need to move bases. But even if you did. just teleport I just stick a chest by the palbox, load everything up, and teleport to the destination palbox and drop it in another box, you don't even need to worry about the weight limit.
The pathfinding IS rudimentary, but do you have to make a staircase that they can't traverse Why put everything inside in small rooms that some of them can't enter Hopefully they fix it well and soon.
For ores, yeah it gets grindy, but you're supposed to address it as a challenge using the game's tools, just like you realise with the crafting timer - you're supposed to use pals. Go to one of the numerous ore fields with 10 or so ore rocks, put a base there and get those guys to work.

When you die in an extreme region, have a spare set of heat and cold protection gear and travel with a flyer, you'll be able to hover above the bag and pick it up. Can't believe people are exploring on foot lol
I don't have the logging or stone pits, removes a distraction and I'm faster at doing it anyway. As for crafting, once you get pets with high crafting skills they get things done reasonably fast.
Everything else I can basically agree on
I have my bottom floor separated from the upper floors, no staircase going up.
I found a safe spot where raids don't get to me and just stuck at the bottom of a cliff, so fire isn't a problem, plus I like the stone look.
I buy the fluids, and there are some waypoints that are right next to sulfur and coal spots. And I built my base right next to an ore jackpot, and they respawn quick (I messed with the resource spawn rate) so I don't ever have far to travel

I had a fire pal who I wanted to smelt iron for me. But instead went to cattle.
I also had my nitewing end up knocking enemies into walls and they get stuck.
But the number one thing I do hate is how I want to select something like craft at a bench or deal with the furnace but the game will act like I'm looking at something else. You can't even have a chest near one anther without the game assuming you're looking at a the chest you don't want to look in or if you're crafting and a pal comes to help. When you finish you want to aquire that item but instead I end up lifting my pal and have to throw them away from the bench before I can even get the item I crafted. I don't get the point of a crosshair if it's not used to determine what I (not the character) is looking at.

Tip Nr. 1 (Ore problem): Build your second base to where 6-8 ores are next to each other (There are several places like this in the world. Be sure not to build on the ore's place. Then put in loads of at least mining 2 pals, some pals to transport, 1-2 fire pal to melt and cook, and some to do the farming watering stuff so it will be a self-sufficient base. Put the only chest in that base right next to the palbox (and the furnace right next to the box, so you can put the ingots into the box without moving, so even if you grab all the ingots you can teleport to your main base with it, there put a chest right next to that palbox as well, so you can put in the box without moving.
If the pals have mining 2 at least then they will mine the ores in the base automatically.

for Ore, you can use one of your bases and build it in a mining location and just mainly build it as a mining outpost with only the bare minimum for what you need to make it self sufficient. The only issue is unless you are sitting there in the base 24/7 you don't get much ore.
The main issues I've experienced is raiding. If one of your guild members levels up the palbox way too quickly you can get easily into a scenario where you have lvl 30 raiders while only being level 10 yourself. There should be a warning when leveling up the palbox saying that the raids will be harder or at X level.

Missed a few ones that are more important than most of these: 1) No way to tell what you haven't caught, without pulling out your Pal Dex. 2) Armor breaks all of the time. 3) No auto-run. 4) Have to hold the F-Key to craft, rather than pressing it once. Have to make macros for these last 2. The AI was the only other thing that bothered me. I didn't notice most of the ones mentioned here. Fire isn't that bad, just make sure to make fire lines or use stone or, if you do get a fire, deconstruct to make a fire line, to keep it from spreading, while you then deconstruct everything that is on fire.

I would say there is a shortcut for ores and palfluids you just haven't found them yet. There is a lot of places where you can make a base specifically for ore mining which fully automates the process. The tier of mining doesnt only make it faster it also lets them break stronger things so you want tier two pals at that base so they will just focus on the ores. And for pal fluids the area around were the Warsect boss is has loads of water type pals, granted they're a little strong so if you're newer you probably can't farm them that efficiently but you can get hundreds very quickly.

Oh PC gaming, I do love the convenience of cheats. Whether it be cheat engine, wemod, the cheat-level server options, I just don't have time to spend my limited leisure time being frustrated. Between time constraints and nasty essential tremor, embracing the modification of games has done wonders for my ability to enjoy them.
There's just too much to enjoy in these incredible games to let your body/skill-ceiling get in the way.
Seeing the same absurd level of hacks like in this just. man, I see you. xD This has got to be a tough job with the time commitment games require.

One thing that helps me move bases, I put the largest container next to my pal box and just try to transfer everything to that container, (or smaller ones if that's easier) and just over load my inventory and since the box is next to the pal box I don't need to walk while I'm 9999/800lbs and you can still fast travel, dump your goods in a box at the new base and repeat until it's all transferred. It's not perfect but it never takes me too long until I need to organize boxes. A grapple hook helps too while your carrying stuff to your bases first box!

I play on xbox and the most annoying thing to me so far is the game reads the analog stick as super sensitive so the game reads it as pushing it all the way in one direction when you slightly nudge it. You have to overtake it with the d-pad. So every time I fast travel, I have to fight the game to get where I want to go because the analog stick is never gonna be set at perfectly neutral. It's always gonna be at least. 000001 in whatever direction that isn't perfectly in the center.

for your #1, I want to point out that if you build your base on resource deposits, your pals at the base will mine them, and they respawn in the same spot every 5-10 minutes. This is also the main reason to limit to 3 bases because auto resource farming is OP. The only hard materials to get are drops from pals, but when you can make 1000 balls a session from auto-farming, you tend to get enough of everything quite easily.

For spheres:
Pal sphere: level 1-9
Mega sphere: lvl 10-19
Giga sphere: 20-29
Hyper sphere: 30-39
Ultra sphere: 40-49
Legendary sphere: 50
You also get a bonus for hitting their back or having a status effect on them.
Best thing to use is a stun baton bcos you can still stun even when it’s damaged. It doesn’t work against electric or ground type so for that you use a pal to apply fire or freeze.

You can make a base that has ore deposits inside of its radius, and if your pals have mining 2 then they will mine the ore deposits for you. There are also quite a few spots that have 10 ore deposits on flat ground that are basically meant for you to build an ore farming base. just make sure you have a pal that can farm berries and you can come back to the base ever few hours for hundreds of ore waiting for you.
reply

But like how the heck do you literally make things inaccessible to Pals and then complain that they can’t get to them Jeez Falcon I don’t understand if this is just a hit job but I literally see why you’re having the issues you’re pointing out as if they’re either done on purpose or just manipulated for content yea it’s got issues but the way you’re presenting it is kinda cringe.
reply

Regarding materials and Ore. It is actually super easy. So stuff like fluids, elemental materials, horn, bones, etc you can just buy them. If you roast berries from a berry farm you can sell mass amounts of food for $ and you will baller enough to just buy all of them. As far as ore you have to build your base in ore clusters. I have one with just 3 and I get hundreds of it easily.

What is the most annoying thing for me is when you accidentaly throw a sphere when you where trying to interact with something. Like you are in the correct pixels, but a second later you looked at another pixel and suddenly, instead of interacting with the object, you throw a sphere accidentally. I must have lost at least 100 spheres to that one problem.
reply

haven't even started to play, just because i can't make my fundamentally key bindings.
another thing that makes the start unbearable for me. holding the attack button for mining/punching.
if i click once, i want to have a full attack swing. if i spam, i want attacks wings until i stop spamming, like in every other game i have ever played.

I personally feel like designing a good base that maximizes the pals is part of the skill of the game. Why would you make a dense, maze-like base and complain that pals have a hard time working inside it. Human players would have a hard time finding that stuff and using it. Maybe you should design a base that works well for your pals instead.
