Top 10 NEW Explorations Games of 2024 [4K] I paused in the middle of you speaking of Eldin Ring to ask: Is there a single source for fantasy definitions I've spent hundreds of hours just trying to slog through The Witcher 3 Complete Edition because I have no clue what most of the terms mean. When I look them up I have to go to website after website after website for definitions only to find that each one has a definition but they are all different. Who the heck is Man A What is Adam Ant ium and why is the music not in the game I don't understand this fantasy stuff AT ALL but I findno single place to go to find quality accurate definitions!

as a lover of Herberts Dune who got all way to Bashar Teg. that game looks like Heresy with the land vehicle. Air and Desert Power were Arrakis because ANY ground vibration summoned worms. its why the Fremen had a whole system to walking so they simulated the natural sound of the desert as just walking=nearest worm comes to say Hi which is fine if its intentional and your are going to ride it home. but not so cool the rest of the time. also that should be really interesting if they simulate the dichotomy of the Fremen in the Deep Desert beyond the Shield Wall the Great Sietchs maybe some sandtrout breeding. the occasional vast cistern of water or ecological miracle cave. and then Arrakeen. a sprawling city with everything that comes with it.

I am so checked out of Outlaws. Huge Star Wars fan, and I love most of the games. It's not the lack of lightsabers, and it isn't the female lead character. It's that, in a game like that, I expect to be able to create my own character. I don't want to play their character. If they want to tell me a story about that character, fine. Make something theatrical. Same reason I haven't been playing Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor. First of all, that kid's the Joker. Second, I don't want to be him. Zero interest.

I do not understand why people still care for Star Wars. the universe is boring as hell. Yes, lightsabers are cool, force powers are cool, I like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda speaks funny yet wise. yes yes.
But the whole universe is just boring and soulless, I really do not understand why anybody cares for it anymore.
Enshrouded is ok,
Dragons Dogma II looks really great
Avowed looks amazing
Little Devil Inside seems interesting
The rest in this video is very much meh.

How can people still say things like 'massive open worlds' any more They don't seem quite as large, these days. the racing game Fuel, which came out in 2008, had a playable area of around 5, 500 square miles. I understand very well that you've got to fill these worlds with things to do, and discover; I understand that current technology limits what game developers can create. You know what I mean, though. For now, quality is all.

TBH call Pacific drive an exploration game is a stretch. At its core is nothing more than a time based procedural map where you do the same thing over and over. Remind me a lot of NMS at release, where the only thing you would do is to collect resources and move on to the next semi-identical planet to do the same exact thing.
When I think exploration, I think games that have variety

seeing star wars outlaws really makes me excited for the potential of a no mans sky style star wars game with some more detailed planets at some point in the future. i dont think its possible at the moment, and probably wont be for a while, but a game where you can choose between one of the many star wars planets to explore is something i need to play

Dragon's Dogma 2 and Star Wars Outlaws and Dune Awakening are the only real important ones. Palworld was fine but got boring fast due to lack of content, same with enshrouded. If anything Nightingale is better but oddly not mentioned in here. And Elden Ring. Eh overhyped, game was super basic and bland.

as a star wars fan, i can already tell sw outlaws will be a big disappointment (not for me tho, i have 0 expectations) and ubisoft will do a shit job once more (how havent they gone bankruft yet.
The only open world sw game i trust is eclipse, and im fine with a 3/4 years wait to play it

I love open world exploration games, stick a epic narrative on it and im hooked, however if you put pvp elements in and put in crafting where i have to make my own base then im out, i don't want to worry about some other gamer ruining my session or be tied down to looking for materials

Nightingale is worth the mention. It's still early access and has alot of work before it's perfect, but exploring the different realms is such a cool and unique concept. I also played it thru to the endgame and was def worth the $30 just to explore the beautiful worlds/biomes

The 1998 Battlezone game was a 3D, FPS/RTS, so you could run and build the bases using first person, then get into tanks, shoot enemy and their bases, jump out go full FPS on enemy players etc. Now imaging that for Dune, which already has a good RTS background.

Wasn't overly fond of Outer worlds, here is hoping Avowed is beter, heck anything would be better than elder scrolls, as for test drive, TDU2 left a bad taste due to their absolute garbage controls, forced input lag. So I'll stay highly skeptical of the follow-up.

I think Hello Games has more than redeemed themselves for the early days of NMS. NMS is now a fantastic and beautiful game with regular (free) updates of very good content. I'd pre-order something from Hello Games before I'd buy anything from Ubisoft.

Only clicked the Like button once you mentioned Shadow of the Erdtree.
Not that there was anything wrong with the rest of the video really but I'm hard-wired into liking any video that positively talks about Elden Ring, I'm so excited.

Given the downward spiral Star Wars has become under Disney as well as how downhill Ubisoft games have gone, I don’t have it in me to get hyped for Outlaws. Instead I will be very cautious and see how the reviews shake out

Ronin looks liks any other game with grappling, gliding mechanic. It looks like Assasinns Creed, God of War and all similar games before and after just with a new skin srapped on it.
Lol palworld with some ppokemon elements to it

reply

Exploration is an emergent property for gamers. This is why Skyrim, Zelda BotW, and Elden Ring are great just to roam around in. In a lot of open world games the 'open world' is just a tech showcase but lacking true substance.

I’m a little gutted about outlaws! Anything star wars without a lightsaber is just boring to me! It’s like star wars without the thing that makes it star wars! Be just like starfield in star wars universe
