I hate how Capcom are confusing people on what's the difference between Remasters, Remakes, Re-imagines
To the point where people are kicking off about Metal Gear Solid Delta being one for one when the clue is in the the name Remake
Remasters are old game with better graphics put over the old ones
Remakes are games remade from the ground up and they are one for one to the original, the only thing that's different is graphics and gameplay, Dead Riseing Deluxe Remaster is a Remake they shouldn't have called it a Remaster cus it's not, They said it themselves the only reason they call it a Remaster is cus for some weird reason they think games have to change alot to be a Remake
Re-imagines are made from the ground up like Remakes but they change things like locations or lore like RE2R, RE3R, RE4R these games are Re-imagines not Remakes so they shouldn't have Remake in there names

I think the upgraded visuals tarnish the 2006 mall aesthetic that brings me so much nostalgia joy. This remaster looks oversaturated and sometimes undersaturated, the lighting is awkward and unpleasant. Removing erotica, adding voice's to characters and that yellow paint all bother me (as well as ofher changes. I dislike when IP's/art are altered to the point of the original losing it's charm. As a huge fan of the first 2 titles, I'm extremely tempted to drop the money on this (especially for the new costumes and outfits) but $60 seens outlandish for what we are getting.

As a constant and avid supporter of all things DR, I was so disappointed with DR 4, it's nice to have this Remaster! To me, it shows Capcom has not yet given up on this franchise, and I strongly believe that if DR 2 is to be remastered after this, it will garner enough momentum for a 5th game to become a real and true possibility. Engaging new fans and really upping the pressure for Capcom to continue down this path will be paramount, but at this point, anything to take away attention from DR 4 is welcome in my book. I'm ready to 100% this game by October!

If this was Capcom's attempt to bring new age fans to the classic game, then I'm very sorry to say that they completely failed. I've never played this game and watching the videos, the animations, the character models and overall mechanics of the gamethis game is too little too old for me, someone who has never played the game when it came out.
This new remaster release will only quench the thirst of the old players who first played the game during the older decades. This has nothing for new-age gamers who have grown up on new-age games.

It's funny small things like the ui and the graphics feeling flat bothers you but the new voice actors which in all comparisons I've seen are worse than the original doesn't. I feel like all reviewers should of played the original in preparation because it feels like they forgot how much better it was compared to this version. Some of the line delivery is just objectively worse if you compare it side by side & the voice acting and story is a critical part of Dead rising & that part is worse for it with the new actors.

Loved the original, would have liked the weapon combination gimmick to have been added, just with everything costing more remasters/re-releases are usually put on a wait for a sale list for me. If they added the weapon combo mechanic in I would have probably bought day one, but for a shinier and streamlined version of a classic that we love, there are new games that are already costing me too much that its hard to spend the full tag price on a game I beat 40 times in the past. So patience for me personally

It's a minor thing but I don't get why some of the props are like 20% larger than they would be in real life and were in the original dead rising and 2016 re-release. Look at the clips of the skateboard or shopping cart or gumball machine. It seems like something that would be pretty easy to fix but I'm not a dev so I can't say for sure it's just a weird change and I'm not sure why they did it like that. Also yea the new UI is very lazy, which is also a disappointing trend in the current game industry.

I played the 2016 a few months back. The game is NOT hard unless you try for the 50 survival. The survivor ai is so horrid and if you go too far from one, they get swarmed immediately. The game automatically just adds zombies on to them. Then there was friendly fire. I killed a couple cause they ran right into my attack space, and instakilled with mini chainsaw.
Great game, but oh so annoying. Glad the ai improved. Timer wasn't all that tight, but i did my best to optimize.

Words like remakes & remasters are nothing but wordplay. The more accurate term is modernized. Much like the recent modernized Lollipop Chainsaw, this too, is also censored. They just add fancy lights & sparkles (ray tracing) to bloat the price & to make use of modern gaming hardware. Just means free marketing for the OG versions & made people who played them in those times feel fortunate & miserable for those who didn't.

I think if they make the frustrating part easier, is better. As long they fix bugs in the original, even better. The problem is if the remaster like GTA SA. It is worse, buggier than original.
Still, remaster usually is just a way to make an old game price become like new. It is fine as long the old one still accessible tho'. If they remove the original, then that's the problem.

I'll never forget the week I got my 360. My friend and I stayed up for 12 hour turns, playing dead rising and Oblivion. One would sleep/eat, the other would play games. His mom called us in sick for a few days of school, it was so fun.
Can't wait to re-experience one of my childhood favorites. hopefully it is still fun in this somewhat altered form.

I got this on the 360 back then and played it for a while. I didn't get that far because I gave up in the tutorial section. It's funny what I missed out on. Same with Oblivion too. I didn't understand the mechanics and that the game would open up into this huge world. My mind back then was still programmed for Super Nintendo and N64 style games.

I'm soo mixed on this. I've never played the original so hearing that they made lots of gameplay improvements is great but I'm really bitter about the stuff they changed from the original. I feel like I'm missing out on something if i don't play both versions and thats a MAJOR dealbreaker for me. I genuinely don't know what to do.

Removed Erotica bonus points from photo's (removed the Erotica feature entirely, the Butcher was Asian but now he's a white guy, the Vietnam PTSD veteran has had all references to Vietnam removed, less zombies, Non functioning mirrors. Removed original voice actors. Removal of the news ticker in the bottom.

Capcom can change whatever they want, and they're definitely free to, I'm so stoked to get into willamette once again, but I HAVE To know. Why does someone who's 36 look older than the Vietnam vet Why was this a good idea Like for me it seems like a toss up if Frank or Brad (Who's 42) is older.

Dead Rising is my favourite game of all time, so I noticed
No zombies in yellow floral shirts carrying hunting knives.
No shutter to the North plaza, it was doors instead.
I hope the Uzis are still in the same hidden spots
And i hope the gun shop glitch is still there

Honestly they played it safe with this game and I say they censorship this game and a lot of ways less zombies now when you get a chainsaw you can't decapitate the blood don't look that good the models look decent this ain't really worth 60 bucks this is just another modern day game
reply

Dead Rising was originally sold as zombies in a mall that isn't Dawn of the Dead, promise and I put hours into the demo listening to Jonathan Coulton's RE: Your Brains before getting into the story on release. Go in for the fun of zombies in a mall, be surprised by the story.

beware if you are new you will see the convicts at some point their song is gone guru if you are new while i played the original it scared the hell out of me now i have ptsd everytime i play the original and hear it when i have survivors with me, so stay safe and have fun(:
reply

I wish they'd have just updated Dead Rising's controls etc to make it run properly on newer devices and left it at that, graphics remasters of games always look a little weird, you got all the old 2006 era animations mixed with brand new graphics, just looks weird.
