I'm really surprised to not see Subnautica Below Zero on this list. OG Subnautica was/is a phenomenal game and the hype and expectation for Below Zero was out of this world because of it. The game ended up being the prime definition of mediocre. It was still a subnautica game to the core, but the writing/story was awful and the dread feeling of being alone was completely gone. They changed the story multiple times during the early access process and it was filled with plot holes. The fact that they are once again looking for new writes show how inconsistent they have been with their entire IP.

1. Hatred. The infamy was off the charts! Oh its so violent! Adults only rating! Everyone was talking about it. Then it came out and was basically just GTA as a twin stick shooter.
2. Atomic Heart. Incredible graphics, and a BioShock look. It ultimately was the studios first ever game however but nobody seemed to take that into account. If you try to compare it to BioShock then yeah you're gonna be disappointed. But if you view it as these guys never made a game before and this was their first attempt then its bloody incredible

Callisto Protocol was such a damn tease. I played it through to the end, waiting every second for the shoe to dropthis was in the Dead Space universe. It looked too close to Dead Space, was riding on the coattails of DS, they have to acknowledge it, right They have to mention some aspect of the story, something. Right
But no. The odd close quarters action and lack of enemy variety on top of the really boring story that I didn’t care about sucked. If I’d known any one of these aspects going in, I’d not have bought the game.

I think people are way too hard on the Callisto Protocol. I think it's a really fun game and the devs listened to the fans and added so much to it. I personally find it more fun than Dead Space. Dead Space is the better horror game but CP is more fun to play and it still has a lot of horror in there. I think the problem was people's expectations. Ive heard people say both the game is too much like DS and also not DS enough. I just wanted a DS inspired hotror action game and i got that and then some.

16: 14 nahhh the real halo killer that could have amounted to something if they had a budget was a Xbox Arcade game that I had back in the day. Can’t remember its name rn but it had emphasis on you are a marine dude in heavy power armor in a good way, like you felt weighty, you could jump and stuff and I think had a jetpack kind of thing, but from the guns to the movement you really felt like you were a walking semi truck ready to hit whatever got in your way.

I actually played Brute Force on the Xbox. Nobody remembers this yall always say that but its always someone who has and does remember it. And this game wasnt that bad, it wasn't a Halo killer for sure but it was still fun. Its funny cause every time you die you leave down your memory chip and the next version of you is actually a clone. 7/10 for me.

Homefront could’ve been pretty good if they fixed the guns and added a lot more suspense. Maybe if you were already in one of their camps and had to devise a plan to escape, then gather up a bunch of other prisoners to help you, could’ve been cool. But you’re just kindagiven a gun and go around shooting anything with slanted eyes.

Heavenly sword was pretty good, IMO. Great story and characters. No more linear than the God of War games. It had quicktime events, but then so did lots of games at the time.
I was never really aware of it getting too hyped either People I knew dismissed it as being god of war with boobs. I was given a copy and TBH I really liked it.

Enter the Matrix was borderline soul crushing on PC, simply for the fact that it was utterly broken at launch. Got a grand sum of 40 minutes of play on it before getting to a section where the game world just noped out of existence and went into a constant string of CTDs. I was on The Matrix koolaid, and damn did that game disappoint.

The Callisto Protocol is a good game that could have been so much better. The graphics are great, the melee combat, and the Dead Space like atmosfere are all very good. The story's not so bad either. Its a shame to think what it could have been, had they taken the time to make a more complete game.

The Conduit was pretty all right imo, I'm not sure it really belonged on the list
But you know what should of been in the top 3 and shame on falcon for not adding it. Final Fantasy XIII

Black & White was one of my favorite games as a kid. I totally get why no one liked it, so buggy and it took so long to do anything. However after playing nothing but FPS and hack and slash games these last 10 years I yearn for simpler more casual days, I need a B&W3.

I'm a little disappointed FF15 wasn't on the list. It's original concept, and early trailers. led us to believe it was a Final Fantasy Romeo and Juilet in a more modern setting. And what we got was a 4 man roadtrip with most of the real plot happening off-screen.

When I was like 6 or 5 yrs old I was obsessed and loved black and white so much, it was my favorite game but I had limited access to it and that relationship didn't work out so we moved so that game probably does not hold up at all to the fond memories I have of it

Order: 1886 could have been something soooo much better. It's one of the game that I wished was instead cooked to perfection rather than being just a tech demo, and possibly the only game I wished someone could purchse the IP rights to it and actually do something.

31: 09 Lol as of writing, i'm currently setting up a colony on a planet in spore. And i agree, it's a game that didn't do fantastically. Mods today makes it more bearably and more entertaining, but that fact you got to use mods for it to be good is just sad!

Going to get a lot of hate for this one. But starfield. It was touted as Skyrim in space. I’m not saying it’s a bad game but let’s be honest the game is just meh. The character models are horrendous, the environments feel dead, and the load screens

Black & White mediocre I think its a lost gem.
I played so much of it and it was cool, funny, engaging and interesting.
I didnt even know it was hyped up, I barely even heard of it. If anything I think it suffered from poor marketing.

Idc what anyone says advent rising was a lot of fun. It was glitchy but the melee combat, powers and gun play were fun to me. I mean where else during that time could I matrix dodge and no scope enemies with while dual wielding sniper rifles

I actually really enjoyed The Calliato Protocol. It was a simple, short and fun game to play. I liked the atmosphere, some story ideas and while the gameplay wasn't deep, it still was solid enough to be enjoyable for the short playtime.
