Liu Kang's death in Deadly Alliance always hits hard cause it was the first time in canon that Liu Kang who was always meant to be the best that stood for all that was good and was the first line of defense for Earthrealm actually dies and to know that at the beginning of Deceptions it's revealed that without him the Deadly Alliance actually succeed solidifies his overall role within the series.

Whilst liu kangs death in deadly alliance was a game changer and still shocking to this day. kung lao appearsa to be in that scene. so where the beep did he suddenly go in half a second when tsung and quan chi arrived at that exact moment (lol, bet kung lao wanted kang dead as well so he could be the new champion.

The first lui Lang death just seems chilling. You see the life leave his body with his eyes losing its pupil and he just drops lifeless, instead of some fictional ability or something. The more realistic death just sends shivers down my spine.

Hearing Liu Kang's soul scream in MK5 and I remember reading the dialogues of the characters in MK Deception and Liu Kang stated while trapped inside of Shang Tsung he had to bare witness in watching his friends/allies be slaughtered.

In my opinion Shang Tsung and Liu Kang rivalry is one to match Scorpion and Sub-Zero, in MK11 Shang has a dialogue with Scorpion where he demands Scorpion teach him hellfire so he can defeat Kang.
