This was my favourite MK game storyline in the entire franchise, it feels more like an RPG where you forge your party's relationships than a mindless shock-value game. It was a risky take from the MK team that truly paid off in the best way.

I'll be honest,
after the games went 3D, I thought the character design took a massive hit. Like they just weren't good.
MK11 and MK1 really improved the character designs and now they are some of my favorite in the series.

God, I cannot believe how much my top 10 characters has changed since seeing this. Mileena, Sindel, Ashrah, Li Mei and Geras have all made massive leaps from the back end of the roster to the top.
