Li Mei was established several times in the Story Mode that she was held responsible for the death of King Jarrod and that she exiled herself instead of accepting the punishment. The thing is that when Jarrod was revived in the form of Ermac, he tells Mileena and Tanya that Li Mei was innocent and he would tell his story some other time. The problem with that statement is how Li Mei is never given an ending where she's told what happened the night Jarrod was killed and relieved from all her crimes. Instead, she gets appointed by Mileena as a politician, only for her to step down and return as First Constable after learning that she hates politics.
And Tanya is arguably even worse as she technically doesn't get an ending, but instead an ending that expands towards Li Mei's Ending. Tanya finds out that after Jarrod was killed, several corrupted members of the Umgadi decided to use Li Mei as a scapegoat to find the fact that they weren't there the night their King was killed. She arrested them and managed to convince her dearest Mileena to not shut down the Umgadi and have Tanya lead them.
Again, if it wasn't for the teasing and the build up on Li Mei and the death of King Jarrod, then I wouldn't have this much of a problem. Hopefully, when Ermac is added to the MK1 Roster, he'll give us the answer we want.

Like what Liu Kang said, he's powerful, but not omnipotent, and this is the brightest we've ever gotten to an MK story, one that's filled of hope. Hell even the main menu already showed this, MKX and MK11 has a far darker, gritty theme after MK9's event, and now we went back a full circle.
But i guess something wouldn't change, no? At least now they have reasons to do this evil, Shao Khan is deluded and wanted to 'free' Outworld, Bi-Han is tired of following his father, treated that he has to be perfect and wanting the clan to be more, while Shang Tsung and Quan Chi COULD have perhaps sought a better future if it wasn't for MK11 Shang Tsung's meddling, just hopefully we'd see both of them again.
Something's worth noting too on my side:
-) Since Hanzo's now a younger candidate to the Shirai Ryu, i'm just hoping no f-cked up sh-t happen to both Harumi, Kuai and Tomas because i'm going to hold NRS on a chokehold for it
-) Sektor's fetish for cyberization, like man what the hell is with your obsession to iT OH MY GOD-
-) Wait, so yall telling me Shujinko in the previous game is always THAT prideful? I'm so out of the loop with the 3D era cause his Deception portrait in the wiki makes him look like this humble, great master
-) Reiko's fate. From what i remember, this is all canon, so if we don't see Reiko returned and a Krypt mode returned, you know what to do

Kratos Ending
-Once again, I found myself fighting against warriors of the realms. Only this time, Liu Kang and Shang Tsung had become beings known as -Titans. -. They were certainly different from the Titans I had encountered. In fact, Raiden was no longer a God, at least in this new timeline Liu Kang fights to preserve. Regardless, this clash of the Titans ended with us defeating Shang Tsung once more, along with Quan Chi. However, I find myself curious about these realms, where their deity tries to guide them towards peace. I shall spend some time here, learning more about them. Perhaps I shall also tell Atreus and Freya about my travels once I return. -

The more I think about it, Nitara really. doesn't fit in this game. It's not even a dig at Megan Fox, her character really more than any other on the roster just has no purpose in the game. She wants to steal people to feed her realm, but is working with Quan Chi because. reasons?
If I was the writers I would've replaced her by bringing Skarlet back - make her learn blood magic from Quan Chi instead of General Shao, maybe in the hopes that he'll teach her realm travel to go to Vaeternus.

Quite interesting to see how many characters that would usually turn their victories into terrible self-serving opportunities to opportunities for greater good of many others because of Liu Kang. Mileena especially was pretty much 180- turn from what I used to know as she-s practically took over what would-ve usually been Kitana-s role and she pulled it as perfectly as she could.

So breeding people as pigs is the best they could come up with for vampires?
I mean they could start trading goods for blood or just ask Liu Kang to have like 5% of the blood donated to hospitals, if a couple thousands is enough population to feed them surely 5% from billions is more than enough.

Reptile's race was originally from Earthrealm, but were forced to leave because of Shinnok (he still exists, he's just powerless. Reptile's mutation results from the fact his evolutionary path never deviated from Earthrealm's conditions. I suspect if Saureans learned the truth, they would want to attempt to conquer Earthrealm, hence the lies.

This is my first exposure to mk properly outside of only knowing that the game has scorpion and sub zero and fatalities. Idk how the fans thought about this game but I've been obsessed with mk after this game and went to all the previous games to catch up. This game is great for newbies like me

I actually really respect Reiko, he has an unbreakable loyalty to shao, and while that isn't great, considering shao is a warlord who wants to conquer the realms, I respect a man who's loyal to the only person he could really call family.
