i don't know indymogul's email so I'm posting my question here:
I already have a new mic because you always stress on how important good audio is. but when it comes to editing what do you thing is the best program for top notch films? My biggest problem is finding a good software for mac. Originally I wanted sony vegas, but I don't want to go though the trouble of allowing windows softwares to run on my mac. Thanks!

Boo. You give soundsnap props for having hollywood / highest quality sfx, but then insult them by saying, nah, you don't need them with all the other free sites around.
I've used all the sites listed and more. I find that sound snaps quality beats everyone else's 9 out of 10 times. Freesound has gotten a lot better over the past 2 years, but still has a long way to go.

I'm a big fan of Premiere and I'd definitely recommend it over everything else. Final Cut Pro X is well-liked by a lot of Mac users, though I don't use it personally. Avid Media Composer is also very good and probably the most powerful if you know what you're doing with it (I'm kind of a novice with it which is why I don't currently use it.

Since I only do one episode a week, and I have a few different themed episodes (Chopping Block has to be done again soon also, it's hard to know when I'll have another one. But I plan on being around a while, so the day will come when I'll do another DIY For The Not So Handy for sure!

Yeah, lol, it was 4: 30am on Friday and I was pretty tired at that point, so I just shot and went with it. My new remote still hasn't shown up that allows me to auto focus from in front of the camera! Hopefully it will be here soon to avoid this in the future!

Free sound effects are great for those who can't afford to put money into their videos, but for people who are moving on to doing professional films with actual budgets, nothing beats a good sound designer!
