So I hear the GH3 solves this problem, by simply creating. mov files on the card, that are easily importable. (This is how the Canon 7D, and I assume the t2i, etc. does it)
But the GH1 and GH2 create. mts files within a folder structure. You can either convert the files like you do, or many editing apps can import them if the file structure is left intact. Final Cut Pro X, for example, can use the Import from camera feature, or FCP7 uses Log and Transfer to import the clips.

Wow you guys come up with all kinds of tips and tricks. I wish I could afford the big name camera's you show off. But I can only do with what I got. I stated out about 5 yrs ago. I got a OK computer. Sony Vegas 6 pro and A. E. and two digital HI8 camera's. By today's standard I have a bunch of crap, or so I am told. Just wondering if there is a site where people with similar equipment get together?

Hey Griffin, I have a question for you. Let's say that you need to create an effect in a different editor than the one you are using to put your video together (before you do your final render. Is it better to export the clip with the effect in high settings, to use it during your final edit? Or should I render it in a format that is similar to the other clips?

No clue why you insist on focusing on the GH3 so much. 80% of us are more in tune to hearing about the new Nikon and Canon, or even the Sony cameras that just came out. You made this video like it's your vlog. Noone cares about whether or not you should get a GH3. What serious film maker even uses Panasonic in their cinemaphotography.

I'd love to be on the show, but have now webcam. I want to get a new camera soon, but have no idea what to look for in terms of a camera for green screen work. Compression is my big issue. I hate dealing with pixel noise. What kind of camera or camera fetchers should I be shopping for?

Hey Griffin I have a GH1 and I like it a lot. However I always need to convert my footage when I put the SD card in my mac. Is that necessary with the GH2 and GH3 and if so what converting program do you use? Because the one I have now always messes up my audio.

Are people really bothering with DSLRs anymore? Sony alone has pretty much negated their usefulness.
They still make sense for photographers, but I don't think any indie filmmaker should be making the investment in the technology anymore.

I'm amazed by the vibrant colors you get with the GH2 - would you mind sharing the color settings or any tips?
Mine has a green-ish tent and has really dull colors compared to yours.

Hi. Jus tcurious, for such large file sizes why would anyone use wi-fi? Or when would you use wi-fi? If I'm even thinking about transferring files I will be next to a computer no?

im looking into gh3 as my nest camera. watching the great camera shootout. and the quality of gh2 has kind of swerve me this way. i think gh3 gonna be a great camera. :)
