RE Wrinkles: in the theater a drop will have a pocket in the bottom that allows you to slide another pipe/bar in. The extra weight stretches out the material and dampens any wind effect. Sew a flap across the bottom of the screen just large enough to slide another pipe through. Then set the height of your lifters so the bottom bar barely touches the ground. If you are short on height you can roll the screen up and secure with quick clamps against the lifters. (Though I guess an iron works too)

The collapsible green screen Russel uses, what style do you guys like more. I hear with the collapsible it's not the correct green shade so it might not turn out right. But I like the idea that there's no winkles. Just wondering if you could give me some tips on what direction to go. I would love to get a green screen for my web series confessional room. The characters would be sitting down talking to the camera.

For greenscreens, I highly recommend Foam backed screens. I have a 10x24 EEFX. com screen and I love it. there are almost no wrinkles on it, it's very strong, it wont tear, and the color is really nice for keying. Composite components also makes really good cloth screens. They're a bit pricy, but they're the go to cloth screens for a lot of places in hollywood.

Hey Griffin, this may help you. What if you attached a steel pipe you can get at home depot for a couple bucks and attached it to the bottom of the green screen sheet in the same way the green screen is attached at the top, this will add weight on the bottom and even out some of the wrinkles, and just maybe iron it right before the shoot, good luck!

Hey Griffin, I'm sure you've already thought about it BUT you might want to have some clamps to pull your green cloth tight on the sides. Might reduce some wrinkles and shadows. Was impressed with how well it turned out. Seems like I always have problems with spill.

When camera did you use to record the Romney video? Or even better, some friends and I are looking to film a short movie and I was wondering what camera would be cheap and effective for that type of project. Thanks!

You pique someone's interest, peek at them through the keyhole, and die of asphyxiation at the peak of Mt Everest. Also, though it doesn't matter much, that L shaped aluminum bar on the slider is called angle.

I thought they were only playing the Hobbit in 48 frames in selected theaters because it looked to much like television? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

they filmed in 48fps, but the video is going to be in 24fps. it was brought up early in the filming, I'm amazed you didn't hear about it.

if you get some muslin clamps and pull the fabric tight and clamp it to the poles you wont see the wrinkles anymore on that green screen.

Not with a big tripod on top, but for low shots, sure. I've seen people use a sandbag (or a bag of rice) as a cushion for the camera.

it's only going to be released in 48fps in a few cinemas. most of us will probably see it in 24fps. guess they chickened out.

Hey Griffin, I heard that since people didn't like the hobbit at 48 fps they switched it back to 24 for wide release.

I wouldn't have known that was Griffin if I walked past him on the street. Pretty good transformation.
