Those cheap mini-tripods have head balls that can pop out. If it happens while you camera is attached, it will be a bad day. I wouldn't risk it as the reward is minimal (saving a few bucks for a real monopod) and risk is your camera and lens cost. Edit -- just saw the end. Color me shocked. NOT!

Can you figure out how to rig it to be a a reverse shot. similar to the shot in Get Him To The Greek when Russel Brand stabs Jonah Hill in the heart with the adrenaline needle. Maybe not necessarily from when Jonah stands up but a good enough rig to have it not shaking around while running around

I wonder, is is possible to make your own filters to put in front of the lens? Esp as my little video camera doesn't have anywhere to actually attach different lenses or filters. I'd really love a ND filter and a sunset filter.

good idea. if it was a little bit more stable it would also be cool to get actor to wear this to establish character's P. O. V, like. shooting a gun doom style or something.

You could also use this as a boom pole. All you need to do is get a quarter twenty to cold shoe adapter and put it on the ball head and mount your mic to the cold shoe
