How do you not see the many down falls of this camera? I know its a Red Camera but really! The crop and lack of true slow motion frame rates while using the full frame, and not to mention the single memory card slot. Why are you not holding Red to the fire for this! I feel that Red doesn't want to cannibalize its line up, so they gave us this half baked camera a la Canon style. True global shutter is good, but come on!

The application of a Global shutter is a feature, but hardly a huge one. Besides, there are a whole lot of other compromises and limitations that mitigate that feature -- 40 fps? Where's that even come from? Personally, I'm not impressed, but the fact that its a RED means it will have a cult following. Just like the Apple bots.

Oh man, was it just me or is ALL of the test footage in this review SUPER SOFT (as in out-of-focus? I had to stop watching 5 minutes in and that was after skimming through! What good is a 6K camera if you can't even focus?

I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Tilta vmount adaptor for the Komodo as it uses both battery slots and not just one. I imagine the long term strain of the single slot vmount may damage the Komodo over time

I'm slightly confused. If someone could help me out that would be great - Does this mean you can't shoot 2k 16: 19 (For example)? The RED crops the image / zooms it in when you go below 6k resolution?

How do you film outside in the sunlight using a red camera? How do you get rid of the sun glare on the screen? I tried 3rd party sun hoods but none of them seem to fit well on my red.

Great camera for size and price, but I wish it still had a native EF-mount version. Adaptors will never get the speed of native also kill the point of being small.

Can fps be incremental like the blackmagic cameras? Like, can I do 36fps or 37fps instead of 40? Or 48fps instead of 50fps?

Seems like the global shutter and RED colors are really the big selling points. That and charging higher rates to clients.

$6k seems like a reasonable price for a brand new Red 6k camera with a global shutter. mirrorless cameras costs nearly $4k.
