I do love Garry Shandling so. It didn't seem to matter whether it was stand-up, writing for TV, The Garry Shandling Show, Larry or anything else. He dealt in the currency of comedy and died a man of unparalleled riches.
It was only yesterday that I watched a little Garry-related material and wondered about his legacy. So I feel lucky to have seen this segment, knowing that HBO is going to pay tribute to a genius. An amazing and hysterically funny man.
It's only been a decade or so since I discovered that Garry strived every day to be kind and to live life for the benefit of others. Or at least try.

If you don't really know anything about Garry, you could be forgiven for assuming that he was a New Yorker who, in one form or another, was a comedian. The first time I heard that he was not just from Tucson, Az, but majored in electrical engineering, it was a surprise.

Does anyone feel like this is a violation of Garry's privacy! Do they think he intended for his most personal &intimate thoughts and feelings to be revealed in a documentary? How did Apatow get permission to do this?

It's very nice of Judd to do this documentary. Garry was amazing and his contributions to comedy in the 80s and 90s cannot be overstated. The world cannot forget about his brilliant mind.

The Larry Sanders Show was my introduction to HBO as a kid and it is to this day one of my all time faves. I used to love him doing the guest host spots for the Tonight Show too. I miss him.

Do yourselves a favor and find a way to watch th zen diaries of Garry Shandling. It is a flat out masterpiece. I was shocked by its depth and brilliance.

I miss The Garry Shandling Show so much! I remember the fun theme song. It was like an early Seinfeld. I think it was on Showtime.
