Just messing around in FSX, attempting to fly the Wings of Power 3: Spitfire without any prior knowledge. Me, a plane, and a healthy serving of dumb. This isn't supposed to be representative of my flight sim experience level, so you don't need to let me know I don't know what I'm doing. Being clueless is the entire point of this video, and it's just a bit of fun! Although I'm sure if any of my pilot relatives see this some epic facepalms will be in order. Check out the Spitfire and other Accu-Sim products

Made me laugh, thanks. :) I had Flight Sim 2 on the Amiga, and found that the idea of flight sims was more intriguing than I found the games entertaining. I guess I just don't have the aptitude or patience. More 'arcadey' games like F/A 18 Interceptor would be more my cup of tea. (Having said that, in my PC collection I notice I have US Navy Fighters, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, Dawn Patrol, Silent Thunder - A10 Tank Killer, and Apache Longbow. Not sure if they are 'sims' or 'games')

I don't know about Spitfires but i know about IC Engines. The RPM was totally unstable and the smoke was definitely not a quality sign, probably too lean or too rich fuel mixture, you should work a little on the throttle. What kind of boost lever was that, as far as i know the Rolls Royce is 40-60 Liter Naturally Aspirated engine, it can't be forced induction or i'm wrong. I'm surprised you didn't stalled to death though.

It's only the installer, actually. It worked on Win 7 64bit for me, just had to find an installer for it (you can find custom made ones, just search around. The intro/hangar bits were a little faster than they should be (I mean the animation was sped up, and the menu visuals were somewhat glitchy, but the actual missions are perfectly playable and look just the way they did back then: )

I had that problem in the early 2000s, but maybe it happened with XP, I can't remember. It only affected the -loose- trailing camera though, for me (the one that's assigned to F3 I think, and only happeden when speeding up, especially with the X-Wing and V-Wing boost thingy, it was still perfectly playable with every other camera (the tighter trailing cam, cockpit cam etc)

For all those in the UK, there are many independent airfields that have private collections, you have to pay for entry but you can sit in them from World War II to Cold War planes.
As for the Spitfire, well it is indeed a fantastic plane, I live in the city that gave birth to the Spitfire, great video as always phreakindee, excuse my spam, it's not on my part.

The best WWII fighter! This one is with the Merlin engine. The Rolls Royce Griffon is around 500 horses more powerful.
That was the first Revell model that I made when I was a kid. You should watch James May's Toy Stories show about Airfix where they build a 1: 1 Spitfire model!

Haha, I loved that comment. It's kind of true that a big part of the funniness of AVGN comes from the cursing, but not just the fact of cursing, but the variety and cleverness. It's kind of annoying when good quality humorous cursing is misunderstood by people like your -friend-: \

I've got the video paused at about the 8-minute mark and, given it took people in WWII 18 months to learn how to pilot a Spitfire, I think it's safe to say I do not rate your chances of getting airborne highly, but let's see how it pans out.

What are your avarage fps without recording? bloom almost halves these, as well as a couple of other setting of the fsx, but how they say: -to each his own-: >
Best to you, a hilarious video btw, i laughed my ass off: >

That's not the problem I had. The installer worked fine and everything ran just shiny, it's just the camera stayed put and just pointed at the ship. Made flying nearly impossible and made the game unplayable.
