Full version is going to be censored anyway because of all the blood&gore. We Germanz can drive 200mph on the Autobahn, start drinking at age 16 and prostitution is perfectly legal, but violence in video games is eeeevil. -
Can't even import the international version because of the swastikas. -
btw: Never give this man a sniper rifle in real life. just. never.

A couple of things I forgot to mention about the first game: special praise for the stirring soundtrack. The CD protection prevents the game running on Windows 7, I got it from GOG for a decent price, runs just fine in Win 7 now. And good/interesting storyline. Lots of graphical details and scenery that they didn't have to put in the game, but wish there were 'more dudes to shoot', as you put it.

The law was made in 1946 by the occupying Allied forces and was (like all laws made by the Allies) automatically adopted by the current Federal Republic of Germany when it was founded in 1949. -
No German politician is going to touch that law for fear of bad press. It only really affects Gamers and Game Publishers and they don't have a strong lobby.

A WWII era tactical third person shooter made by the same people that butchered the AVP series? I'd almost say I'd rather die of dysentery than play this game, but that's ridiculous. I would probably definitely choose to play this game instead of death by dysentery. But then again, it is a WWII era tactical third person shooter made by the same people that butchered the AVP series.

I'm older that you and just because Windows 95 and ME sucked doesn't give XP a free pass. Windows Vista (yes really) and Windows 7 are both far superior.
You expect to play top-quality games like this on a 12 year old OS? Really? You MUST have upgraded your hardware so why not your OS?
Shit, even I have a copy of Windows 7 and I'm primarily a Mac user!

Just to point out that the first Sniper Elite game is available in a fixed Windows 7-compatible form, from GOG (Good Old Games, for $4. 99 this weekend. Well worth a go! Look under the 'Rebellion Bullseye' link. (Note, the retail game itself is Win 7 compatible, but as the disc has copy protection that fails under Win 7, the game won't install/play)

I remember the original quite a bit and enjoyed the demo so far. If there is anyone interested you can pick up the original on gog for like $10. I wonder if they will have a mission similar to the 4th or 5th mission from the original where you have to take some snipers off the Reichstag. Always was nice watching enemy snipers falling from the rooftops.

Just played through the ps3 version, awsome game, pity it isnt a bit longer though. The testicle obliteration brings a tear to the eye. I love the sound effects on the bullet slomo thing, very well done. I think this is a game to replay just for a laugh, trying to get ever more inventive and sadistic kills.

I hate to say that this ad thing you signed up, now means (me atleast) am having to sit through a 15 second advert. Not complaining here, it gives you royalties which is great but thought i'd let you know since you said that there wouldn't be much difference to ads that where there before you did the deal.

As it happens, I've been replaying the first Sniper Elite (PC) this week. Always finding new little things in it, especially when trying a different route or tactic. Best regarded as a flawed near-masterpiece. This new one has the expected graphical improvements, I'll see about getting the demo.
