LGR Plays - The Hunter
video description
The weird thing about _Hunting Unlimited_ is that I only had fun hunting deer and bear. The game also had moose and elk but I never cared about them for some reason. And even hunting bear is not nearly as fun deer (but it is different; for me, the game turned into a horror game when hunting bear)-
One thing in _Hunting Unlimited_ that bothered me is anti-scent spray which is supposed to hide your scent. I found it a terrible thing to implement in a hunting game. All I did in those spare moments of slowly stalking my prey is constantly spray myself, paranoid about what my scent level is, hearing that -spritz- noise spray bottles make. That should have been removed entirely and just use the wind direction mechanic (which the game did have) It's telling how great _Hunting Unlimited_ is when this is my major complaint.
What I want from a hunting game is less stuff, not more. A bigger the game map is better but I am more talking gameplay. A handheld GPS that highlights animal tracks, gives me the general direction of where the animal is running and can automatically tell one animal's tracks from another is not good. _Hunting Unlimited_ is just straightforward. Animals make tracks and sometimes animal tracks can overlap and intertwine, I must decide which tracks to follow. The chance of losing track of the animal I want to follow is high. If I hit the animal it will leave a blood trail. If the shot was lethal the blood trail will lead to a dead body; if not lethal then the blood trail will lead to nothing but I will be close to an injured animal. A hunting game should emulate reality as close as possible. As the hunter, I must decipher the situation.
Oh man, I was disappointed by so many hunting games on consoles. I will never trust the Cabela name.

I remember playing this game back before the recent dev team took it over. It was good, had potential. However as a hunter, I wouldn't say it was an amazing game. I mean I would rather be out hunting versus playing this game. I've been curious to go back and try it again, but it seems more like a cash cow than anything else.
Not to say that no one should try it because you could hunt in real life. Like I enjoy playing Truck Simulator, but I am sure real truckers not only don't have the time for it, but would rather be driving their real truck.

This game is so shockingly realistic. Hunting games are usually terrible, either because of budget or because someone's too busy programming in elk heart eating to give a crap about immersion(Yes, Cabela, you're terrible at video games. Seriously all the details made this feel like a living, breathing world that has a bigger existance than shooting gallery.
Also, I love animals, dearly, but I also like to hunt fake ones because it's fake and just for fun. If only your games WERE fun Cabela.

While I do watch and like all your videos, what Jedijoe22 said is kinda true. -
Sometimes you can be harsh with people in the comment section, it's a shame because you have a very soft and soothing voice (So it did surprise me the few times you were harsh)-
Please don't take it wrong and scold me for it, it's just that I saw JediJoe's comment and had to confirm. -
I think It's part of a reviewer's duty to be patient and answer his fans requests/questions with a little diplomacy, not sarcasm.

OMG this is so cool, I got this game like a year ago and haven't played it in a long time. I was so surprised to see you make a video of this! Just a couple tips I've learned (I'm a noob too) when you're tracking, a solid red glow is the animal you're tracking, an outlined glow is a different trail. Also that mini-game I heard you say you needed binocs to play, it actually plays on your GPS. I also believe that there's a digital camera on you all the time, if you go through your items.

Noted, but I can't say I see how what I said is rude at all. It's the honest truth, and I hope that people expect no less from me by now. Also, it's worth mentioning that this is not an isolated incident, and without your knowing the details and previous things said, well. Yeah, I think making myself perfectly clear for the nth time is totally valid. I prefer to make my stance known without any question in these cases, even if I have to repeat myself many times (and I have.

I'm planning on purchasing a new tower soon, and I hit a slight dilemma. I am on a limited budget overall, but yet the work I does on computers tends to be somewhat intensive (a lot of video and audio editing and gaming. For a flashpoint, what would you recommend, spec-wise, for something to run Skyrim reasonably well? From what I've been examining, if I can run that I'll be fine overall but the internet can be rather vague.

Do you prefer eating meat from hunters who kill animals that live in the wild or do you prefer eating meat from farms, where the animals arent even allowed to move so that they can have more fat. Also do you have any idea what are breeders doing to those poor animals? If not, watch some videos online, you'll be shocked. There is nothing wrong with hunting, deal with it.

Ever notice how the people who make demanding complaints about the high quality free entertainment they're getting are NEVER people who have produced ANYTHING themselves? It's almost as if they have no appreciation of the effort and time that it takes to produce such things.
