LGR, I have to give you a huge thank you. This is a game that has always sat at the back of my mind as something so terribly nostalgic (and one of my sources of childhood nightmare fuel) but I could never figure out what the game was. At somepoint in early elementary we had this at my school or my cousin had it on his computer and the dolls freaked me out so bad that I've had vivid memories of them up to this day, but could never place why. It was almost like I could remember an old fever dream and I wasnt sure if this thing actually existed or not. Heck, I even thought at one point if it wasnt a weird dream memory that it was some really obscure Beatles educational game or something with creepy dolls. But now you've officially put to rest an old childhood memory that I could never figure out why it had been bugging me for so long. Also I love your vids, thrifts are like going out with a friend just to gawk at funny stuff you find and your Oddware and Techtales are almost like How its Made, something grossly engaging and never tiring. Kudos to all your fine work sir.

I have been obsessed with this game since I was a kid. It always comes back into my awareness at the weirdest times. I genuinely credit it with my logical mindset, as it was my earliest exposure to Nim and codebreaking. The game was also really obtuse with how it let you break the game and put the wrong things in the cauldron, to where you had to restart. I'd normally say that this is bad, but my computer teacher at the time said that it was good to teach us to read the rules and instruction carefully.

Oh man, I remember this thing from middle school. I couldn't recall the name, until I saw this review! Thanks!
Sadly, I don't think I ever got very far with it, or if I did, I'm pretty sure I never got off the island. I remember being frustrated by wandering around, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do sometimes, but I recognized some of the puzzles. Yaaayyy? XD

I remember I had a demo of this game way back when. Came with a bunch of other MECC demos on a disc from. Yukon Trail, I think. It stuck out in my mind because despite being deeply curious about what it was given the music and visuals, I never once got it to load. It would crash to desktop without fail after the intro. Interesting to finally find out years later.

My brother had a CD copy of this. I still have it. I was only mildly stumped in the normal mode, but I remember finding the hard levels to be pretty. hard, as a kid. I do remember how the maze didn't even have the 2D overlay when you went in the cave without a candle or after the candle burnt out, and I never managed to solve it that way. :p

LOVED this game as a kid! Freaked me out with the whole body snatching thing to the point where I'd sometimes just stand at the entrance of the carnival, listen to the carny call, and then turn it off. But goodness, the game was a challenge for me back then, especially that highest difficulty.

Have you ever played/heard of the game Dare to Dream? It's a DOS point and click adventure from the 90s that I played (or at least tried to) as a kid, and recently just re-discovered. Would like to know if it was some weird obscure thing, or if it actually did have a wider audience.

Wooooaaaahhhh. I remember this game.
Not like I remembered it before. I had NO idea what the game was while you were talking about it. and then you got into the actual game. and BAM, I totally remember this game.
This game totally freaked me out as a kid.
Creeeepy nostalgia.

I'm putting in a request for an obscure edutainment game. It's based off of the old CG television show called Henry's Amazing Animals, that had a terribly rendered little green lizard. I used to play that all the time. Along with an early copy of The Grey's Anatomy anatomical guide.

This brings back memories when I was in elementary school playing these type of fun games in computer lab. Good times. Although you said this came out in 1992? I was playing these types of games back in 1998-1999. But I guess it makes sense, because computers sucked back then.
