Join me as I go out thrifting, in search of games and interesting goods at various discount shops! Goodwills and sunburn kato223: Seeing stuff that they are donated that they didn't pay one cent for up for auction or matching prices of ebay, Amazon, etc, is one of the biggest reasons I stopped going to the Swap Meets and basically these types of stores. They were originally started as not-for-profit to help those in need to get things that they might otherwise not have been able to purchase. I do fully understand that businesses are in business to make money. But when you are gouging people for junk that you got for free is beyond me. At least the items you buy off ebay or Amazon you know will be working and if not you get your money back. Places like this, they just throw them out there normally without testing them and you pay the same but usually without the option to get your money back is just WRONG! That's my 2 cents worth.

Those disc cleaning things, or well the resurfacing ones (like the -game doctor- one I had IIRC) did actually work. I used it to recover quite a few of my scratched up CDs.
Unfortunately, one dear to me that got a huge gouge in it (one of the PC FF7 play discs) wasn't able to be repaired as the scratch was just too damn deep. Seeing this thrifting stuff makes me want to go try to find a replacement one. I'll never use it again (PS version was superior, sans mods, plus it's released digitally now, but I'd probably have some peace of mind knowing the one in my possession works fine. Plus, I spilled soda on the box, so a replacement one would be nice too. Ugh, being a kid.

Lol! I would die for the battery piggy bank! One year I was out of ideas for christmas gifts so I saved up all my dead batteries from my gameboy and gave them to my sister as her present. She was so excited because she had so many gifts, but when she opened them she was like -yay batteries. - and I was all like -not just any batteries! Dead batteries! - lol I have been trying to come up with ideas for her christmas present this year because she's coming to visit and that would have been perfect! :P

- 5: 24 OMG! I got this for a friend years ago for Christmas. He made fun of it for the next year.
He opened up my gift the next Christmas and saw the box that had a really nice light set.
When he opened it, it contained Gram crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows.
He never made fun of me again.

You have some awesome Goodwills near you. The ones around here have no fancy auction cases, or (here's the real shocker) NO ELECTRONICS! All around America's oldest city's Goodwills, you will find that all of the store have ZERO electronics. That also goes for computer games, or console games.

Most libraries have one of those super expensive CD / DVD disc resurfacing machines that sand off all the scratches and then coat the discs I'm some kinda plastic again making them good as new. it only costs a dollar or so per disc and is way worth trying.

I actually had one of those domino rally sets when I was a kid. It had a little battery-powered cart that would set up dominos as well. Never really messed with anything beyond that. I barely remember playing with it.

Ah, the CD Clinic/generic CD repair kits. Those did indeed work, as I had a scratched copy of Final Fantasy VIII and after some CD Clinic sorcery I was finally able to load the world map and leave the city I was stuck in

its funny how peoples try to sell over nostalgia with those nes console. like really who would buy those at this prices its outragious and insulting to gamers in general but at the same time, meh who would want one!
