It's a floppy disk! It's a calculator! It's both! Let's take a look at this novelty item that IBM gave to their business partners back in the '90s taqu: Man, oh man! That's really cool and now I kind of want one. I don't understand why IBM didn't/doesn't sell these direct to consumers, they would definitely be a popular novelty item, a rare gag gift you'd be actually proud to use. Maybe they didn't see a market for it back in the 90s, but now people are proud of their geekdom and gladly wear in oh their sleeve. Of course, if they sold these, it would negate the whole point of giving it away to their business partness because they wouldn't be novel anymore, but I'm sure they'd think of something else to give instead.

Hey LGR, you are awesome and your videos are awesome and your collections are awesome and you are awesome, and I know I told that last one twice because you are three times more awesome than average man and I am very stingy with my praises.
On a more serious note, you are awesome. Because you make us re-live the magical times where creativity was worth a damn and everything was not bland and empty and we weren't grumpy old people caught in nostalgia sickness.
And finally, you are awsome.

God damn it me wantee! I've got so many old IBM Keyboard enthusiast friends who'd cry tears of joy if I gave them one. Which I'd never do. Bugger them, me wantee.
Separately God can you imagine the pretentious uni student in class with that thing out, doing unnecessary calculations in basic equations just to show it off? I hate the imaginary arseholes I make up in my mind, they're always so far below me for whatever reason.

I don't have it anymore, or I lost it, but I used to have a calculator that was the size of a business card and could actually fit in your wallet. It worked on the same principle as the -floppy disk- calculator in that was that it was solar powered and it had pressure-sensitive buttons. It was a fun little thing until I lost it.

LGR! Do you have any other way of identifying this (eg: serial/part number, barcode, suggestions on keyword searches and sites to search through, to be able to find one for personal ownership? I've seen similar promotional products, but this is proving significantly more difficult to find than anticipated. Thanks!

Would have been cool if they could add a small floppy disk -emulator- head on the back (like those old cassette tape to 3. 5mm jack adapters) so you could access stored calculations through the floppy drive. simple to do now days not so much back then, but hey it would have been cool.

My mother was head of telecommunications for our side of the country's grocery store chain and she got little trinkets like this from companies they worked with (NEC, IBM, Black Box, etc) and she had one of these! I loved it as a kid, I thought it was just the coolest thing.

Damn, I got one of these, but mine says MacWarehouse and is blue. Got it free when we bought our first 2400 baud modem. I still got it and it still works.
Not as cool as my period IBM THINK sign and dad's punch cards and printouts for the 604.

03: 01 Damn it why is it so hard these days to find a proper Return key on a keyboard?
Cool looking calculator. I think I remember seeing something similar before, but I am not sure if it was an IBM one.
Thanks for sharing.

Once he said he collects calculators too, and I saw some other calculators, I was like -Damn, Clint! Do you live in a multi-story mansion or something? How the hell are you able to fit all that stuff in your home? -
