Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver, Planet Hot Wheels, and Hot Wheels Velocity X defined my childhood gaming experience back in 1st and 2nd grade. alongside Quake 3: Arena, MechWarrior 3 (jumpstarted my obsession with Battletech in general) Microsoft Train Simulator (yep, I learned how to drive virtual trains before learning how to drive a car) 3-D Ultra Lionel Train Town Deluxe, 3-D Ultra RC Racers, Microsoft Pinball Arcade, and various PS1 games such as the Crash Bandicoot series and Pac-Man World (didn't play Spyro until years later)

jokes on you, I have the planet hot wheels cd content running on my modern day Mac through wine, so if you put in way too much effort, you can run these things on modern systems
(I can't find all that much info on these CDs actually. there was 6 of them, and they all included 1 level from stunt track driver 2, and 4 demos. a demo for the original stunt track driver with a new original map, hot wheels mechanix, hot wheels crash or whatever its called, and hot wheels micro racer)

I have a question for you Mr LGR, as an entrance into -vintage- although you wouldn't call it vintage, I have acquired a Pentium! System. BUT this is no ordinary late 90s early 2000s pentium, oh no, this is a P3 SERVER. Which comes with its own challenges, like pre-ddr ECC ram, SCSI hotswap raid array, and the most important part, this pc's astounding dual 1ghz coppermine Pentium! s. So my question is, where is a place you would recommend to find help on such a system?

Damn I loved this game so much! Still have my original copy too! I loved the environments and played it so much seeing you playing these courses I still remember the layouts and amount of combos I could fit between each jump. What a great game! I think I didn't have a problem with the outdoors because it reminded me of how I used to play with my hotwheels. Just outside everywhere, since we never really had much track. I need to break this out again!

I always had this theory with my siblings that in STD 1 its a young kid who wins a hot wheels contest and then he builds all those crazy ass tracks (as shown in the intro)
in STD 2 we made a theory that its the same kid grown as an adult and his track pieces are all missing. so to relive the glory days he builds a bunch of tracks out of dirt and spare pieces he has lying around.

I have both on disc and they work just fine on my computer, but I have a question for anyone who knows the answer. If it's possible, how do you open the FMVs as videos? I know which files are them, but not how to properly open them outside of the game. Also, how do 90s FMVs work in general? If anyone has, or knows where the answers are, please reply with the information.

I know n64 is a little new for the niche you generally target, but watching your videos on How Wheels games reminds me of Hot Wheels Turbo Racing which is an n64 game I played all the time when I was younger. Super fun and is technically still raced on tracks, though largely scaled up. The soundtrack to the game also includes Primus which is awesome.

I remember that there was this game you could play on the Hot Wheels website that was essentially a full 3D version of stunt track driver, except with powerups, upgrades, and ONLINE MULTIPLAYER with up to like 20 people I think. It was a hell of a lot of fun. I think it used the same engine as this game's track editor.

I actually recently found both my HotWheels Stund Track Driver 1 and 2 CDs, and installed them without any issues on my Windows 10 gaming PC! They run with no stutters or errors, which I was super surprised to find. Definitely a great little bit of nostalgia to share with my pals during boring lectures in college.
