Must Watch Action Movies With Terrible Rotten Tomatoes Scores Khaw: I liked the first Fast and the Furious. The 2nd was a departure in story style. We went from a story that focused on the cars and a family aspect with the heists while being important they were not the sole driving force of the movie. Then we got the second. It was more of action comedy that dropped the ball on the emotional engagement with the characters. The villain was generic, the character dialog was generic and the plot was generic. I was not impressed and almost didn't plan to go back to the theater for the 3rd installment. Then the title of the 3rd came out and the trailer, while it was a departure from Vin and Paul, at least looked like a enjoyable film despite the comedy aspect of of Bow-wow. I bit my tongue and went to the theater. I loved the movie. It was back closer to what made the first movie so enjoyable. I was so sad when Han got killed having gotten invested in his mentor placement. I still love going back and watching it. Then the 4th movie and it's trailer hit the scene. I was eager to see Vin and Paul back. I thought their chemistry on screen would be a welcome event. I went to see the 4th in the theater and was disappointed. It was still better than the 2nd, but it felt like they went to far action and into the land of neat to watch but to unbelievable. When the 5th came out, based on the trailer I waited for video. I rented the video from Redbox and that's where the Fast and Furious movies have continued to this day. A Redbox video rental. The only real moment of emotional engagement came with Paul Walkers demise. For a brain dead action flick with comedy sprinkled in the movies are fine. For something that engages you more than visually though? They lost that after movie 1 and 3.

I am of the opinion that we need to open our eyes more and more and step away from certain terms such as reviews for example. Watch films or play games by listening to your own voice and try to create your own opinion AFTER experiencing something for yourself. Because even if seemingly half the world hates a certain movie, many times even while we don't realize this its just to fit in. Some stuff i would like to give my personal view on. Dracula Untold was an amazing movie with an actor rightfully fit for the role if you ask me. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was THE way to go as a third installment of the now blown our of proportion franchise. It just personally made sense to me since we had to movies where the crew was the crew we knew and it worked. But the third worked very well and if that would be the end of the franchise it would finish it in a beautiful trilogy where we see dom at the end joining in on the race one more time because he just couldn't keep himself out of the game. King Arthur is madness in so many good ways, where Ritchie did a Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels on the already worn out King Arthur formula, certified fresh! Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters has pacing and if there is one thing that is the most important to me in a movie, hell even more sometimes then the plot lol. And Hansel and Gretel need a sequel as of yesterday already. So many more underrated gems to my opinion and once again, keep watching movies first yourself and then decide. No review is needed, just your own brain: )

Lone Ranger is not worth watching. It's a bad, boring movie.
Anaconda is worth watching to see Jennifer Lopez get sweaty and hot.
Tokyo Drift is the only Fast And Furious worth watching.
King Arthur is worth watching. It isn't a perfect film, however.
Bright is all right.
Dracula Untold is better than people give it credit.
Death Sentence: Haven't seen it. Never heard of it. Looks like another one of those, I'm an aging movie star who needs a low-stakes action film to maybe revitalize my career the way Liam Neeson did with Taken.
Gods of Egypt sucks. It has one scene worth watching: the Flat Earth. Not that I believe in that. It's just interesting to see visually.
Hansel and Gretel is forgettable.

Rotten tomatoes, and indeed every review of every movie, is nothing but opinions, too often by people who have not actually bothered watching the Movie.
Death Sentence for example was a fantastic Movie. Admittedly, Vengeance / Stree justice are my favourite genre, so Movies like Death Sentence and Equalizer, and DeathWish etc are my favourite kinds of movies. The bets movie of all time for me, is A TIME TO KILL and THE NEGOTIATOR followed by Miss Sloane ( ok, a small segway on that one.
But, if you are going to judge a Movie based on reviews, then you might also consider seeking professional help, because Reviewers and Esp Rotten Tomatoes are nothing but shamefully shitty at reviewing.

I think there should be a new way to judge and jury movies. What one likes another may hate and the latter.
There should be a way of knowing what each person likes in a movie before they score that movie, for instance if one loves romance then that shouldn't reflect in their scoring system, of an action flick. And of course the other hand, if one loves actions it shouldn't reflect their thoughts of a romance. The only ones that get scored fairly are comedies, everyone can relate to a good comedy, but if you notice the ones with a good rating are the ROMANTIC comedies.

I'm sure you are a nice person and all that, but dear god I would never listen to your advice on movies to watch. I've seen about half of the films on this list, and Dracula Untold is the only one I'd say was even watchable. Anaconda, Tokyo Drift, Bright, Gods of Egypt, and Hansel and Gretel were TERRIBLE. I didn't even finish some of those they were so bad. The way you described the rest of the ones I hadn't seen definitely didn't make me want to go and watch them. Comparing anything to the SAW films is a good way to get me to never watch it.

This is a great list. People don't seem to remember any more, but Rotten Tomatoes was first started and mainly frequented by a bunch of pretentious, edgy teens who honestly didn't have much movie knowledge, and that legacy still plagues it to this day, thus the odd movie scores to movies that are honestly a good time to watch on a Saturday afternoon. People simply don't remember the days when Rotten Tomatoes crowned Donnie Darko The best movie of all time. Yeah, that actually happened.

I absolutely love the Cell w J. Lo and Vincent D are amazing in it! Most use RT to see if a movie is worth going to see but for me, it's the opposite. If they dislike a show, I find that I like the show. I think that RT n other critics make to much of a show. Break it down and go over every word or action w a magnifying glass. It's annoying. They forget it's a movies or show! We are here to be made to laugh n smile. Its ridiculous that there jobs like this really anyways.

Death Sentence is a great movie, reminds me of the Max Payne game story. Whenever I see a low Rotten Tomatoes score I watch the movie because most of the time its actually really good. The site's reviews feel incredibly biased. If its not a Disney flick or politically skewed, then the rating is very low (imo. I've actually watched most of the flicks on this list. The only one I really didn't enjoy was Gods of Egypt because it reminded me of Ben Affleck as batman.

all critics/critic sites eventually suffer the same 2 problems. 1. they are not here to tell you if the movie measured up for its genre or budget or whatever matters to you. they are here to tell you if they thought it measured up. for its budget or genre or whatever. and 2. you watch all the movies you want. but they watch ALL THE MOVIES. so eventually they get sick of everything, and usually before you.
