Anime You Didn't Know Have Upcoming Live Action Remakes D0S81: to be quite honest, i dont see the fasination with making things live action, especially when computer graphics have come so far that half these films would be better served with full realistic r realistic-ish CGI remakes instead, a perfect example would be appleseed ex alpha, maybe the story was a llittle lacking, but it had english lip sync, the characters looked amazing, and the whole thing just looked gorgeous, and it fit with it coming from manga/anime. Akira would defo be one id love to see done in full cgi, especially after seeing kaneda bike beutifully remade in the film 'ready player one' which had gorgeous graphics too. hollywood need to forget about the failures that were final fantasy spirits within and beowulf, they failed because they thought the realistic visuals and a list cast members would be enough, but you need a good story, otherwise you may as well make a silent movie. but yeah, they should give the full realistic cgi stuff a go when adapting anime.

I toyed with the idea of a live-action version of Black Lagoon for a while, but after seeing how tough it was to cast, could not overcome that final hurdle of figuring out how to keep Quentin Tarantino & Joss Whedon focused and synched long enough to go to final print! (Two master chefs, one pot - know what I'm saying)
Anyone else wants to give it a whirl, here's my casting picks:
Revy = Summer Glau
Dutch = Christopher Judge
Benny = Alan Tudyk (alternate: T. J. Miller)
Balalaika = Tricia Helfer
(There's more but the list is on my XP laptop. Like I said, I've been thinking about it for a while)

Very convenient. I was not aware that Ghost in the Shell was a major loss. How sad, the SFX were first class. I would like to see a Nollywood movie quickly follow through on picking up the quality. One place with big SFX budgets is Bollywood, but in relation to the story line - meh. Nollywood/Hollywood could use the funds to bring something else to life. To seeing more history making films.

If you haven't seen anime, like I am, Death Note is a pretty badass movie, graphics, action, actors and plot twists are high quality. Ghost in a Shell is probably one of the best movies ever made regardless if you have seen original anime. But haters always gonna hate. I really hope someone is working on Evangelion live action. The worst adaptation of anime so far is a Transformers.

Would be a mistake to base the remake of Attack on Titan on the Japanese films - they strayed very far from the original story and it was not an improvement at all. A big budget and better effects and acting will not rescue that mess - they're better off either sticking to the original manga story or coming up with their own remake ideas.

Leave. Animes. Alone.
There is a reason we watch them in 2D. It is a beauty and artistic skill for 2D to beat 3D. Although it is just a drawing.
Leave. Anime. Alone
A real woman can never be as charming as an anime girl, just as a real man can never be awesome like an anime protagonist

Hollywood needs to realize that they can't approach this like they approach comic book movies. They might be similar mediums but they are both done very differently with most american comics being very episodic with endless stories while manga have a set beginning, middle, and end.

Alita was decent possible the best anime/manga live action yet.
Death note (one of my favourite Animes) was utter shit
Attack on titan. we don't talk about her she is that bad
moral of the story Anime is not supposed to be turned into a live action.

Honestly all of these anime adaptations could all work if everyone would just stick to the original script and stop trying to turn it into something new. It has proven to fail time and time again with literally every anime adaptation.

I couldnt watch the first couple minutes of fullmetal alchemist without hating it and clicking off then I decided to give it another chance. and it was still terrible in my opinion
Oh yeah, who here in 2019?
