The Most Important Deleted Scenes In Game Of Thrones MGSBigBoss77: Its been said for years, that Pycelle's scene should never have been cut. Bar none it fleshed out his character in one mere scene and showed so how many people in the series and books use their intelligence as weapons if they're; old/elderly, dwarves, or physically disabled etc. Lord Tywin being able to suss him out is probably due to the fact he took years to truly figure out who was responsible for letting his forces in during the Mad King's fall. Worked out over time and effort that it was Pycelle but kept the knowledge of the facts, to himself for such an occasion as the deleted scene shows us. Despite being used as comic relief on the surface in the series, he too is a wily bird with his own plans, the major one being to simply to survive in such a hostile environment like; King's Landing and so on!

Of course they cut the Pycelle scene. It would have been insufferable to keep watching him pretend to be feeble when we've clearly seen what her really is. This way you get the fun from the deleted scene but the way we perceive his character remains intact. Besides there's a scene where he does some stretching that provides the same result without being as dramatic and it didn't get cut.

Get it? A lot of hard work and details go into your videos, AND I love your content. BUT. Shit music is TOO loud and repetitive! So much imagination at work, then you screw it up with a (3 or 2 second loop for loopers) theme song.

The Tywin & Pycelle conversation should have been left in, it showed perfectly how much of a sycophant Pycelle is towards Tywin.
It also confirms, for me, that back during the sacking of kings landing in the last days of the Targaryen regime when Pycelle told Areys to open the gates to Tywin, he's trustworthy. He was Tywin's man even back then plus it was a very good scene

The Pycelle and Tywin scene also had a dead fish being gutted.
Maybe they thought the symbolism was getting a bit too formulaic, Tywin skinning a deer (sigil of House Barrathion, Tywin burning a wolf pelt (sigil of House Stark, Tywin catching a fish (sigil of House Tully.

As I watched I realised when Tywin asks 'what will you do when the Lannister's are not the most powerful house', pycelle explains 'I will be long dead by that time', well he predicted his death Tywin is dead and since the Lannisters aren't the most powerful Pycelle is dead.

3: 09 Bron you backstabber! I liked you D:
Also, Shae turning against Tyrion always seemed odd and I didn't understand why she would do that 180. That extra scene helps a little, but it still feels written that way rather than natural character development.

That scene between Tywin and Pycelle should have been kept. Hopefully after the show ends, an extended version of all the episodes is released. I didn't like The Fellowship of the Ring but took a chance with purchasing the extended edition and liked that a lot.

The Tywin/Pycelle scene was just too much on-the-nose. It's pretty obvious when you think about it, that Pycelle is just playing a role to reach far in the world. Him outright admitting it is just silly, and it would take some of the magic away from the show.

Only one problem. You can't take a deleted scene as proof of anything. You never know why a scene was deleted so for all we know none of what happened in any of these scenes actually mean anything for the show.
