Times That Trying To Censor Games Totally Backfired Lugmillord: I can take a lot of gore and violence, heck Higurashi is my favorite anime and in that show everyone dies multiple times (it's great, go watch it. However, death race is too much for me to handle. Running stick figures over and turning them into tombstones is just. I can't take it, I really can't. It makes me feel like I am now forced to do the same in real life. That's exactly the effect it has!
. I just noticed, I watched this videos nine months ago and made the exact same joke. Wow, am I really this predictable? Now I'm kinda sad.

You wanna play a game that shows someones personality?
Play Undertale, yep, just make someone play it and depending on how they play, youll know if theyre violent or not.
Some people do hate Undertale so make them play something else that gives the player freedom and can finish the game without killing like Metal Gear.
If they dont want to do those test then theyre violent or something.
Theyll probably try to trick you by asking oh to play a game that you think is innocent but dont fall for it, even Mario kills.

I loved Night Trap when I was a kid. I thought it was fun trying to save the ditzy idiots from the cult vampires in it and it really made me feel like some kind of surveillance and security specialist. Admittedly though I had read a lot of pulp horror, including Brian Lumley's Necroscope series by then. which is way, waaaaay more screwed up than anything I've actually seen IRL, and the whole Night Trap thing was completely tame to me.
I guess it just goes to show if you really want to get into some fcked up sht read books.

Censorship, what a horrible thing in my opinion. In principle it is basically fascism. And as Mark Twain once said Censorship is like telling a grown man he can not eat a steak because a baby can not chew it. But damn, Its true when they say there is no such thing as bad publicity, I love how these devs used that to sell copies. I kinda want to play a few of these games now as well just because some assholes do not want me to.

The attempt to censor is according to the belief that people CANNOT be held accountable for their choices. That, and there's ZERO possibility for an individual to be suspected of conscious malicious or perverse intent or even genuine mental instability. You're all quite perfectly stable & benevolent angels but it's media entertainment that corrupts you. You're being coddled. I find it vastly insulting.

I had a friend in elementary who would always play gta with his brothers. When his mom found out she took the game from them claiming that it would make them violent. He would always tell us how he would find the game and keep on playing it anyway, and every time she noticed she would beat them so hard that theyd get bruises. Yeah, the hypocrisy of this mom.

Yesss the Mortal Kombat blood code for Genesis! A B B C A B. still remember after 25 years! Sad but true, but in 3rd grade me and my buddy Christian were in love with Kitana when MK2 came out haha. which lead to my first crush in that same grade. I even still remember her name (Michelle L, man this thing brought back a bunch of memories from being a kid!

And it's funny because now, steam is slowly making itself completely accessible to developers. Even games with Adult ratings and violence, because they believe that gamers' will buy what they want to buy. If they want to buy a game that has adult content, they can, and if they don't, they still can, but they have the choice either way.

I don't get die hard censorship advocates; any game that has gore is rated M and you have to be 18 in order to buy it. You're legally an adult by that age, so any kids that play an M rated game would have needed an adult to buy it. Meaning that either their parents or guardian have no problem with them playing it.

Manhunt's thing was how realistic it was. So I want to make a game that's absolutely brutal and totally gory, unrealistic amounts of gore and violence. But it would be really cartoony with monsters and stuff to distance it from reality. It would be like a game to take out your anger on the NPCs.
