Being an actor isn't always easy. Depending on the role, you could be looking at elaborately choreographed scenes, harsh filming conditions, a relentless director, and more. And sometimes, a role requires changing your body to suit the part. Plenty of actors have shown how much work goes into bulking up for a role, especially a superhero role, but what about the opposite? What about losing weight to portray someone struggling with disease, or insomnia, or Gotham-induced rage? These actors dropped the pounds like you wouldn't believe. Drake: As someone who has done multiple days of fasting, I can tell you that the best way to transition into it, without enduring as much suffering, is to do a low carb diet first, for at least several weeks prior to a fast. This mitigates blood sugar spikes and dramatic dips in blood sugar, allowing for a smoother transition when you cease to eat food entirely. It won't eliminate the discomfort. There is going to be some lethargy and hunger that is unavoidable, but doing extended periods of low carb dieting first, before embarking on a lengthy fast, makes you more reliant on burning body fat to mitigate those ill effects.
