The Best Horror Sequels That Were Ever Made sgt: Also Nightmare on elm street 3 was the best in the series! Original is definitely a close 2nd and then new nightmare. Hellraiser 2 is a great sequel, and I liked 3 and 4 as well, the rest were garbage. Annabelle creation was fantastic, All the child's play sequels were great, aliens and alien 3, paranormal activity 2 and 3 were good, tremors 2, Blair Witch was good (not talking about book of shadows, that was meh. Mind you folks, I'm not trying to say all of these were better than the originals, just pointing out that they're good films that happen to be sequels.

Saw 2 is odd. It was a script for an entirely different movie. but upon the immense success of the first saw, the script was bought and completely re-worked into a sequel in order to release it quickly and grab onto the coattails of the first.
Not a bad movie, but not one of the best horror sequels (in my opinion.
How in the world you guys put Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning on here is completely beyond me - completely. I don't even want to start in on the problems with that movie, suffice to say that is a MAJOR gaff on your list - major.
The fact that The Exorcist III isn't on here in favor of the aforementioned TCM: The Beginning and to a lesser degree Scream 2 is deplorable. Also, A Nightmare ON Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors deserves a place on any horror movie best of sequels list. A New Nightmare is fine, but it's rushed and sloppy third act all but destroy the entire thing.
Add Elms Street 3, Exorcist 3, The Bride Of Frankenstein, Psycho II, Aliens (although it is more of an action movie, yet it is a sequel to a horror/suspense flick, so it might count) and Halloween 4, on here and you'll be getting somewhere. But as for this list, you might want to think about watching more horror sequels next time.

I think Romero's Dawn of the Dead is much better than Night, it is incredibly entertaining cosidering it tackles the subject matter of the end of the world, zombies, and how most of the main cast die (similar to Shaun of the Dead actually, it also has a comedic touch. I get the whole thing with the original Night of the Living Dead, but I also prefer the 1990 Savini remake of it. It feels much more watchable as the original can drag a little in places.
Also I think James Cameron's Aliens and also Tremors 2 should've made this list. I prefer Aliens to Ridley Scott's original as it is much more entertaining for me and Alien seems to be also a thing of it's time, I felt it drag on, some of the effects were a little outdated (in the Director's cut there was a clear edit between a prosthetic head and an actors head poking through the table: /. Tremors 2 also matches up to it's predecessor and the whole Tremors franchise seems largely underrated. All the Tremors films seem to hold up well and is one of the more successful franchises in my opinion.

Yo I think John Carpenter's HALLOWEN 2 should have been on there! Like OMG! It's just as much of a Classic as the original one! So well put together and so creepy and that music! OMG! that CLASSIC Halloween them music and the music that starts after the part in the film when he stabs the nurse in the back with the scalpel and lifts her up with it and then drops her body! That music is terrifying and Amazing all at the same time! And they must add POLTERGEIST 2: THE OTHER SIDE AND ALIENS the sequel to ALIEN! And that part 2 to the STRANGERS VERY MUCH Deserves to be on this list! It's is so good! Also they got it right on point with FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 AND SCREAM 2 and that CHAINSAW MASSACRE That came out in 04! That is one of the few remakes that get a pass! So Well put together! And Very intense and terrifying!

Hellraiser 2 Hellbound (i would reccomend for the list)
Aliens (si fi horror but. perhaps not for this list)
ABC's of death 2
Human centipede 2 ) I thought part one was scarier but 2 looks cinematicly cool
Dawn of the death remake (zack snyder's best movie along with watchmen)
Evil death remake (this is true horror at it's best)
Guilty sin: Purge 3 election year topped all
Guilty sin 2: Species 2 was a lot better and darker
favorite horrormovie: suspiria, remake was very nicely done)
fans argue: suspiria or inferno. Inferno was a brilliant part 2 and for a lot of fans, it was even better

I would've chosen Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors over Wes Craven's New Nightmare, New Nightmare was good, but 3 was the best sequel. Saw didn't deserve to be on the list, as every sequel becomes more and more convoluted, ridiculous and progressively worse. Scream being on the list is also debatable, considering that none of the sequels even came close to the 1st. V/H/S 2 could've easily replaced Scream or Saw, in my opinion. Rec 2 was a worthy sequel as well, but I do agree with most of this list.

Though I know there are some fans who prefer the sequels to the original (not me personally) but I don't think I've encountered many who would name II as the most superior sequel. Generally, I've mostly seen III and V cited as the favorite sequels. II tends to hang out with VII in the good but not great camp. Though, there's still plenty of good stuff about II (who can say no to more Shawnee Smith, and to each their own.
