Movies That Were Completely Erased From Existence Matthew: It's hilarious how George Lucas thought the holiday special was disappointing. I guess some people have no ability to hear a really really bad idea and realize it's going to turn out poorly. I guess he also thought Jar Jar Binks was going to be a really good character. And wasn't he responsible for Howard the Duck? It's funny how people have one good idea, even brilliant, so we assume everything that pops out of their brain is going to be just as good. Nope.

If you wanted to do something interesting, there are actual movies that have been erased from history. Not partially erased, or somebody has a VHS copy they taped off of some UHF station. There are films that will never see the light of day again, either on purpose or through accidental means, like the original film stock combusting due to the silver nitrate used in the process back in the day.

You need a part 2 to add Disney's The Song of the South. The myth is that it is banned. Not banned Disney will not release it in US. It is released in UK and Japan. Also include Jerry Lewis' The Day the Clown that Cried. Wonder if Lewis destroyed the copy after his death. Thought I heard the Lib of Congress has a copy and can release it 5 years after his death.

I saw the Star Wars Holiday Special as a kid. For years and years, I've been telling people I saw this part where you go to Chewy's house and have dinner lol! Of course, I was told for almost 30 years it was probably just a dream and I would always say it wasn't. Then the internet showed me last year lol! I was right hahahaha!

There are two movies that I saw once each on Austar (Cable tv in Australia) that Ive never ever seen again. And its been a decade since I saw them. Cant find DVDs, or either of them on the internet. Ghost Voyage. SS Doomtrooper. Theres information about them but havent seen a way to watch them or buy them.

Honestly, Nosferatu is a horror masterpiece. Never has there been such a truly creepy creature graced the cinema screen so subtly as this one, and the fact that it was a silent movie proves it's worthiness even more so. It inspired interest in the horror genre, and the possibility of darkness in cinema.

Ive seen the star wars holiday special twice.
Once out of morbid curiosity and it cant be thaaaat bad in college.
And once to make sure that the sketchy looking dvd I bought for my dad worked. I was drunk that time. It wasnt more bearable. (But my dad did actually love it)

How about SMOKEY IS THE BANDIT, which was heavily revised after a disastrous preview as SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT 3? The original version of the movie seems to be buried somewhere, but a teaser trailer has surfaced, and so have a couple of photos of Jackie Gleason dressed as the Bandit.
